Argos - Bradford

Unit 15 Forster Square Retail Park, Valley Road, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 4RN

03-06-2009

Argos is a shopI go into to buy stuff. this may sound stupid, but when I explain you’ll understand. I go to argos I pick up the catalogue and then I take it home and keep it. When I need stuff I broswe the catalogue and go to argos to buy what I want. If you go to the store, knowing what you want it is much easier as its lawys busy in there and there are always queues. If you know what you want then you can use the card payment boxes and then get your time slip and either wait or come back later to get your shopping. Its so much easier than queueing for ages or trying to find a free book to look at while you’re in there as they are always occupied.

Kirkgate Shopping Centre - Bradford

Kirkgate Centre, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 1TQ

03-06-2009

The kirkgate ios the main shopping centre of bradford. There are a variety or shops here including argos and primark as well os more fashionable shops like new look and ann summers. However, The shopping centre when busy is not a fun place to be. In fact I rarely buy anything from the stores there. Its the little stalls I tend to visit. the smotthie bar by the front entrance is the best thing in the centre. The smoothies are georgous, if a little expensive and are just nice on a hot day.

Dolland & Aitchison - Bradford

1 Darley Street, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 3LB

03-06-2009

I have been going to D and A all my life and whilst I was a kid and thigns were free they were fine; always friendly and happy to serve. However, now that I have to pay for stuff I find them incredibly expenive; an eye test is around £25! There are vouchers around quite often for money off or a free eye test but even then the glasses are still expensive. You pay for the lenses seperately to the frames, which works out hugely expensive if you have a high prescription. I would recommend elsewhere.

Specsavers Opticians - Bradford

32 Darley Street, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 3HH

03-06-2009

I have always gone to dolland and aitchison for my glasses needs but when I found out that my eye test was going to cost around £25 I decided to go elsewhere and found specsavers. They gave me an appointment quickly and gave 'the works’ for only £10. I was amazed. There was nothing more to it. A full eye test for just a tenner. It was all professionally done, I was seen quickly and I was out of there in a reasonable amount of time. Definitely recommended.

W H Smith - Bradford

10-11 Darley Mall, Kirkgate Centre, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 1QP

03-06-2009

Smiths is usually my last resort for books as they are quite expensive, however, they do often have special offers on and they do have a big selection for a smallish shop. If you can;t find the book you want then they will order it which is quite nice, but its be full price so you will probably find it cheaper elsewhere.

Subway - Bradford

Valley Road, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 4RN

03-06-2009

I like subways as a store. The sandwiches are always nice and fresh and the food is always tasty, and this subway is no exception. This one is nice and light and airy. The staff are polite, the food is always well stocked and the taste is always good. The only drawback is that it is in the middle of the forster square retail park so you could have a trek to it. If you’re shopping there anyway though its a great place for lunch. Also the Free City Bus stops nearby so you can always get a free ride home afterwards!

T J Hughes - Bradford

65 Sunbridge Road, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 2NJ

I like this store. It always has nice cheap stuff, particularly the jeans. I have picked up some jeans for £5 each that have lasted me a good long time. However, I do find the shop a bit dirty in appearance and it always seems a bit uninviting. This could jsut be me but its seems very clinical. The stuff the store sells is mostly reasonably priced but make sure you don;t get ripped off on the elctrical stuff as that tends to be overpriced.

Carphone Warehouse - Bradford

1 46 Kirgate (not shopping centre), Bradford, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 1QT

03-06-2009

Carphone warehouse is a store i’ve visited recently when I wanted a new phone. I got the phone on a cheap contract with the phone being free which i was very pleased about. However, a few months downt he line the screen broke. I took it back to the shop and the very friendly staff sent it off for repair. I got my phone back around 2 weeks later fully repaired and back to normal… or so I thought.. the next day it broke again in the same way. I have sent it for repair again and am waiting on the result. So to conclude, the staff are very good and its not their fault the phone is faulty so they are beign very accommodating ans day that I should be able to get a new model if the problem persists, so good store.

Cex - Bradford

56 Kirkgate, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 1QT

03-06-2009

CEX is a bit of a hit and miss shop. Sometimes you can go in and find a bargain but other times its really expensive. The stuff they sell is all second hand and some of it is really not in very good condition. I always find the shop a bit dirty and has a very confined feeling about it. However, if you want something a bit cheaper and don’t mind the packaging being a bit bashed its a good place to check out.

Game Stores - Bradford

4-6 Darly Street, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 3HH

03-06-2009

Game is a pretty good shop. It has a good selection of games on different consoles. Theres a trade-in system in place where you can trade in old games for cash or money off purchases in store. Money off is better value and if you can;t find something there and then you can always put the money onto a trade-in card, which means you get the better price but you don;t have to spend it there and then. They also occasionally do a student discount, although they may have stopped this, but its always worth asking.
