By far the best curry Ive had this year, the Lamb Doupiaza was superb.
The restaurant is smart modern and opposite Coventry railway station.

Whats happening to curry houses?
We went again and quite frankly it was a joke,
1st off the waiter flatly refused to serve us meat and veg samosas on the same plate for starters, when the samosas arrived they were still frozen in the middle and the main courses had more oil on them than BP managed to put into the gulf of Mexico-yuk.
The world has moved on, you cant serve crap like this and expect to stay in business. We keep finding restaurants we think are good and then they keep on letting us down.
Can ayone recommend a good reliable plain old curry house in the Coventry area?

My wife was deeply offended here by the staff ignoring her and only talking to me.
As for the food, pretty average and on the pricey side

1st impressions were good for our Thursday night curry club meeting. The restaurant is bright and airy with a contempory feel specialising in Kerala cuisine. Im not so sure that the vintage motorcycle parked at one of the tables really adds to the place though.
We started with pappodoms, we shared two baskets between 4 of us which comes to £8.00, portions sizes were poor, the pickles were on the whole disappointing with one particularly sad flavourless coconut pot.
We moved on to the starters, I had the Vada, a sort of doughnut with pickles, this was disappointing my companions were equally unimpressed with their startes.
The mains saved the evening, my curry and rice was excellent though portion sizes were on the poor side and the breads were very expensive for what they were I prefer normal Indian Naan breads.
Cost for the evening £100 between 4 (6 pints of beer).
Would we go again? probably not

Vine Inn - Warwick
West Street, Warwick, Warwickshire CV34 6AW

Visited this pub for the 1st and last time 21st Aug 2010.
The Vine is a pub of Tudor appearance near to Warwick castle.
I was served a pint of Hooky which was sour and undrinkable, i complained to the barman who said ' i was wrong and that he had served a lot during the day' I suggested that he should taste it but he told me he didnt like beer and wouldnt.Eventually another member of staff came forward and confirmed the beer was off and was offered a replacement drink but no apology.
At this point the two members of staff sat down and ate their meals in the pub ignoring a sizable queue forming at the bar .
The pub was pretty lifeless considering it was sat night. We moved on to a selection of other pubs, all of which were busy, there is a lesson there

We ate here on our 1st night of Dales trip, service was excellent if you were looking for material for a remake of Fawlty Towers. Food was poor, beer sour and expensive. There are much nicer places to eat locally in Askrigg and Aysgarth

I passed this pub many times before it was renovated , it looked pretty run down so gave it a miss.
The pub has now been freshened up and has a large child friendly beer garden at the rear. ive been a couple of times now , there is a good atmosphere but the beer on both occasions was poor and I probably wont be going again for a while- a good pint is pretty fundermental to a pubs appeal.

Went here for 1st time on my birthday and was impressed.
Airy stylish rooms, good quality food, I was especially impressed with the deserts which can often be a disappointing afterthought in some places.
The bar was serving Hogans cider on draught which is excellent, not your mass produced cheapo rubbish or paint stripper attempt.

Steels is the best sitdown traditional fish and chips shop i have been to in recent years, good service and excellent quality. You may have to wait quite a while to get a table though and not just in the holiday season.
fawkes05 Why go out, you do nothing but moan, you should be blacklisted from all restuarants, the only thing you like is to moan. Even on the 5* star review you had a moan about waiting times. Get a life of don’t go out.
