i have been going to this hair salon for close to ten years and it is a hidden gem in Winchester. Always accommodates me, I always have a chat about my hair, great cut and high quality Goldwell hair products and i enjoy the coffee and salon banter. up to date magazines and all without the cut and thrust of other more pushy salons. Prices are great Try it and you will see why I call it a gem!

Four boys aged 6-15 and we always visit Trethorne on the day we leave although our children ask to go there many times during our holiday. There is unusual park equipment to climb, swing and slide on; a bowling alley that is more like a private alley compared to the loud, noisy and impersonal bowling alleys near home! The boys love the indoor play areas and see the death drop slides as their particular challenge…who will go first and go highest. Our youngest loves the pony rides and we all have a go at the electric climbing wall. There is a whole day of fun here and onsite facilities are good.

This is our 4th visit. There is a choice of accommodation here between the hotel itself, some villas (look like flat roof prefabs) and the wooden lodges. The villas and lodges are self-catering. We have only stayed in the lodges. they are all standard fitted out more or less the same. 3 bedrooms, 2 twin rooms (one upstairs and one down) and a double room also on ground floor. Downstairs is a very high ceilinged, all pine interior. The kitchen diner are open plan with corner suite, TV with sky sports 1,2&3, freeview and a DVD player. The kitchen is quite well equipped but i'm sure they would sort it out if something was missing. There is an electric hob and fan oven, fridge with small icebox, toaster, microwave and. kettle. All crockery, glasses, cutlery, chopping boards and utensils are supplied but take the usual self catering supplies. the bathroom is fine with a decent electric shower over the bath, lots of hot water and an electric towel rail. The overnight storage heater is massive and does a great job, we adjust the damper in October visits....always snug and warm. Grounds are lovely with birds singing and well-tended gardens. our kids have loved the tennis courts, the badminton court and the outdoor heated pool (pool struggles to heat in cool weather, my kids still go in). There is also a squash court. All of the above are not in tip top condition, but we have no complaints. There is a games room and a small launderette. Camelford has a great Co-op for supplies and has great links to everywhere really. Lovely surrounding villages, bays an walks and close to Rock, Wadebridge, Padstow..... highly recommended.
