I have been here a few times, each time hoping to see why some of my friends like it. I still can’t. Average food. Decent service. Not particularly nice interior. Overpriced.

Dire. Seafood platter was defrosted prawns with some mackerel pate. Roast dinner was the stuff of nightmares. Nice garden in summer, cold beer, that’s all. Why is it busy? No idea.

My favourite Indian restaurant in Aylesbury. Nice for quiet meal for two, family meal or raucous gang. Lovely waiting staff who are very happy to advise on menu or make food more or less authentic so that your tastes are catered for. Their banquet deal during the week is ridiculously good value. Ordering in is fine, delivery prompt, but going there in person is much better.

Went for dinner after boyfriend had a lovely burger there one evening. We were both massively disappointed. Was told by the waitress they do not serve large glasses of wine, only medium, odd. In fact the medium glass was a small measure in a large glass. The pub was cold. Fish and chips only average, chips overcooked, mushy peas horrible and sugary. Boyfriends sausage and mash not cheap, came with no vegetables, very small portion and the gravy tasted of bisto! Chocolate fondant for pudding was very nice. But the long wait for very mediocre food was not worth it. Wetherspoons food for an inflated price, very disappointed. Back to the woolpack at Stoke Mandeville.
