Gatton Manor Golf & Country Club - Dorking

Standon Lane, Ockley, Dorking, Surrey RH5 5PQ

23-04-2012

Slightly off the beaten track, this golf, hotel and country club is set in the stunning Surrey Countryside.

Wembley Stadium - Wembley

Wembley National Stadium, Brent, London HA9 0WS

28-02-2012

Having been to both the old and the new Wembley I can confirm that while the stadium is now more comfortable, modern and shiny the atmosphere hasn’t changed much at all – to my delight. As with anything in the UK, it’s the transport services that let it down. Trains are appalling and expect long queues. Love it as a football stadium though. When you walk out to the seats for the first time its vast expanse become apparent however, quite surprisingly, it still feels like an arena from gladiatorial Rome! Awesome…

The Amex Stadium - Falmer

Village Way, Falmer, Brighton BN1 9BL

A really good stadium and a proper success story. After battling for 15 years the Seagulls fans finally got what they deserved. It looks fantastic and is suitably compact on the inside. The seats have cushions on them and the away stand boasts the best hospitality in the Championship. I was especially impressed with the local ales that were shipped in and the historic images on the screens in the concourses. The conference facilities are also great, well developed and the food is fantastic. An all round good experience (even if Leicester did lose to a last minute goal!).

Pomodoro E Mozzarella - Eastbourne

23-24 Cornfield Terrace, War Memorial, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN21 4NS

14-02-2012

A fantastic restaurant. I had White Bait to start, the biggest White Bait I had ever seen, lightly battered with Tartare Sauce and it did not disappoint! I then had the Veal with Parma Ham, again a top drawer dish, absolutely deserves all of its 5 stars!

The Eastbourne Centre - Eastbourne

Grand Parade, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN21 4DN

14-02-2012

Smart, clean and with great views from the balcony this is one of the better places to stay in Eastbourne. A nice selection of drinks at the bar but, if I had to find one bad point, it was that the bar closed far too early…

Ghyll Manor Country Hotel - Rusper

High St, Rusper, Horsham, West Sussex RH12 4PX

23-12-2011

The ambience, the welcome, the staff and the food all top notch. I had the salmon starter and the Roast Turkey Christmas Dinner and I couldn’t pick one fault with it. The hotel itself is beautiful and most definitely worth a visit.

The Lamb Inn - Horsham

Lambs Green, Rusper, Horsham, West Sussex RH12 4RG

09-12-2011

Lovely location, beautiful open fire and very accommodating staff. Haven’t eaten there but I’ve heard the food is good quality.

wine bar - Westminster

20 Deans Yard, London SW1P 3JX

15-06-2011

Only the privelaged few get invited to this bar as you have to be accompanied by an MP and only MP's are allowed to buy a drink at the bar (good job it was his round then). Anyone who has been inside the Houses of Parliament will know just how beautiful the interior of this historic building is. The Strangers Bar itself is only small but has a surprisingly comfortable atmosphere, it's the outdoor terrace that's the icing on the cake as you can just about see from my picture. Sat in the shadow of the House, next to the Thames in summer tranquility. I was so impressed I even though I might like to be a member one day and I'm the least political person I know. Definately one for the bucket list if you ever get the opportunity and a big thank you to Jason (the MP who invited me) for allowing me to experience how the 'other half' live...

alexsheppard Very interesting! I didn't know about this bar before your review.
