Topshop - West End
214 Oxford Street, Fitzrovia, London W1C 1DA
31-01-2008
Topshop on Oxford St attracts women and girls from all over the world regardless of age, lifestyle and nationality. Topshop has turned into a department store in its own right. Three floors of everything a girl could ever want. My favorite part of Topshop and the part that i mainly visit is on the lower ground floor where all the shoes, brands and vintage are stocked. I have picked up some great finds here. Prices slightly higher than upstairs in topshops mainline collection but worth it. Is worth remembering mobile phone signal is poor on the lower ground floor and you can get lost in their for hours so best to warn you friends before you go so they dont think you've disappeared off the face of the earth!!
Hoss - West End
211 Regent Street, London W1B 4NF
31-01-2008
I was very excited at the opeing of Hoss on Regent St, only to be disappointed. from the outside the windows are dressed in high fashion outfits and when you venture inside it all becomes a little drab and yyou want to ask "havent we seen it somewhere before?"The shoes are the best part of this boutique, with skyscraper platforms that look a little bit out of place amongst the hippy styles and vintage inspired flowery prints.Maybe it was just an off season I look forwrad to next
Spitalfields Market - City of London
65 Old Spitalfields Market, brick lane, London E1 6EW
31-01-2008
Spitalfields market is located a few minutes walk from Liverpool St station and is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Spitalfields is known for being a funky, urban and fashionable part of London's east end. Stalls galore with vintage clothing, handmade hats, scarves bags etc. Jewellery too. It is a famous haunt of the fashion set and as a stylist myself, it is a great place to gain inspiration and also to pick up unique, one off items of clothing or accessories. Surrounded by numerous restuarants, bars and shops it is the perfect place to spend a morning or afternoon shopping. It is the portobello of the east side of London.
Coq d'Argent - City of London
No. 1 Poultry, Southwark, London EC2R 8EJ
31-01-2008
I visit Coq D’argent regularly mostly in the summer time due to the fantastic roof garden and views across the city.
The food is great here and beautifully presented by friendly and helpful staff. You can just visit for drinks, you dont have to eat and when the sun is shining the roof garden is full of people who live or work nearby ejoying a drink above the rooftops. There is also a viewpoint which overlooks the Royal Exchange.
You reach Coq D’argent by lift and takes you straight up into the garden. One of my favorite places to eat and drink in London. Not cheap but that is more than made up for in the food, atmosphere and views.
Apt - City of London
Aldermary House Queen Street, Aldermary House, London EC4N 4SG
31-01-2008
Apt is a cocktail lounge/bar/club in the middle of the city close to Bank.
The crowd tends to be office/bank workers from the surrounding areas and is busy on a Thurs or Fri although recently alot of business has been taken away by Abacus on Cornhill and Revolution on Leadenhall.
I have visited Apt only twice and have not gone out of my way to re-visit. I felt that it lacked atmosphere. Set on two floors, the bar on the top floor gets very busy as it is only small and downstairs in the cocktail bar there is seating and lower ligthing. Both times I have been we have headed straight downstairs. The cocktails are good and it is relatively cheap. Now open on Saturdays as well.
Movida - Soho
8 Argyll Street, London W1F 7TF
31-01-2008
I have been going to Movida since it opened.
Located just behind Oxford/Regent St it is popular with people from inside london and out. A regular haunt of the celebs too.
The club gets busy but never feels over-crowded although the crowd does vary from night to night. Mid week is a good time to visit Movida with a more relaxed atmosphere wheras Saturday the crowd tends to be younger and alot less dressed. I have noticed a sudden influx of eastern europeans frequenting this club especially on a wednesday.Always a fun night, dancing on the chairs and waving champagne in the air like you just dont care is definitely the way forward in Movida. The resturant is actually very good here.Movida offers the perfect package for a night out.
Pangea - Mayfair
85 Picadilly, Mayfair, Clarances Street, London W1J 7NB
31-01-2008
Pangea is not the club it used to be in my opinion. Gone are the days when wednesday night at Pangea so the biggest names and players in London lounging on the sofas at this basement club. friday nights now under the GLM team are the best nights here. The club itself takes inspiration from everything tribal and african, with african beats behind the music. The dance area is around the seated area which can get a little over crowded but witha big group of friends is lots of fun. The bathrooms are fun and kitsch, worth a visit for that alone!!
Funky Buddha - Mayfair
15 Berkeley Street, London W1J 8DY
31-01-2008
Funky Buddha has been recently refurbished and what a difference it makes. It no longer seems like a tacky haunt of every big brother star that ever was, but rather a classy, fun venue in the heart of Mayfair that guarentees a good night out.
The nights vary however so be warned. During the week you get a more London based crowd albeit with the odd sprinkling of footballers and glamour models but where dont you in central London?! Tues and Fri nights are good and busy not doesnt feel over crowded in the small club. Sat nights are very busy as expected and the crowd is noticably different, great if your from Essex, not so great if your not.
Boujis - South Kensington
43 Thurloe Street, South Kensington, London SW7 2LQ
31-01-2008
Boujis is rarely out of the newspapers thanks to a couple of certain royals and their girlfriends. A regualr haunt of the Kensington and Chelsea set with saturdays being a busy night. Pricey to get in and drinks are also just as expensive. However, the pleasant door staff and sheer attractiveness of the staff inside more than makes up for that. Great for dancing around your mulberry handbag, quite a casual club so definitely leave your glitzy dresses behind. Open untill 3am
tf_1 'Great for dancing around your Mulberry handbag’, lol, that’s funny, is it in protection of, or in reverence of?

JEWEL - Soho
4-6 Glasshouse Street, Piccadilly, London W1B 5DQ
31-01-2008
Jewell on Glasshouse St is a great first date venue. Located in the heart of Picadilly right next to the tube station is it the perfect bar for cocktails with the girls or first date drinks. During the week it is quiet with a sprinkling of people and on a fri and sat it gets busier especially post 9pm. The interior is lavish with big chandaliers and a long bar. The seating area towards the back of the bar offers small tables and intimate corners in low lighting. the selection of food is also good and perfect for post work nibbles.
