Asadal Korean Restaurant - Holborn
227 High Holborn, Holborn, London WC1V 7EG

It does seem a bit daunting to go downstairs, but once you enter the restaurant, the atmosphere is really nice. Friendly and polite waiters. They’re quite attentive and help you cook the meat as well.
I wouldn’t say totally delicious, but I think it’s worth the money for the vibe and everything included.
The lunch set meal is a better deal, I think. Right next to Holborn station. You wouldn’t miss it.
Maki Japanese Restaurant - Richmond
Kew Road, Richmond , London TW9 2PJ

I’m Japanese, and I was impressed by the delicious food I had there the other day. It was a Saturday afternoon, yet it was almost completely empty. I couldn’t believe it! True, it’s not extremely cheap, but the people are really polite and friendly, the atmosphere Japanesey, and the delicious food. What more need I say. If you do stroll nearby, I think this is the place you should go.
Cafe Bay - Camberwell

The baguettes are just fabulous, the coffee rich, and the atmosphere nice and cozy. Vegetarian sandwiches are also available. I go there at least once a week, and never get tired of this place.

You would probably find your table and your floor greasy, but the noodles-fried rice set menu is filling enough for its decent price. The taste isn’t bad either. Reminds you of an “izakaya(Japanese pub)”.
kiku - Mayfair

The atmosphere is really nice, delicious green tea freely served, and the waitresses constantly checking to see that your cup is full, just like in Japan. The food is delicately tasted, not bland, nor oily, or either uses too much spice, which you find a lot in UK. If I say anything negative about the food, it would be the rice itself, but you wouldn’t get good rice in the UK anyway.
On second thoughts, you’re paying a lot, so you deserve the hospitalty. But it’s worth it, and as a Japanese, I go there for a treat.
