Nice old lady who owns this shop, it stocks a huge amount of wools! Right from the floor to the ceiling in all various of colours, and shades, and type of wools!

My mum loves going in there as I remember going in there with my mum one day as she wanted to buy just one ball of wool, but when she came out she ended up having a bin bagful of wools!

Also they do stock loads of knitting books, on all various of clothing’s! Mum said their price are fab.

moota2000 Lol… your wife… Well, maybe I was being served with someone else, and she is old….! Probably not your wife…! haha! But it is still a great shop through!

crochettard This is a bit confusing. The shop called Material Things is in Cathcart street. I wonder if the wool shop mentioned above is MG Wools in Nelson Street? The address given here in Old Inverkip Road seems to be a house according to Google maps. I’ve only been to Material Things once but the lady was very nice and helpful and there was a good range of fabrics/sewing merchandise.

I have been to this site, only when it announces an open day, as it is private property/place.

I remember when it have announced a open day, my parents and myself went over there, to have a nice walk around the gardens, and my word it is very gorgeous, and I have never knew it was so well hidden, as it is covered by tall trees around the property.

Also the building is gorgeous, and I have been inside the building, for a coffee and cakes. However I did not explore the whole building, as it was limited to few rooms only.

This owners of the property is good friends of our Queen, as I have heard!

Smallish supermarket. Useful for top up your wee shopping.

But rubbish parking, which you have to park on the main road. only if you are lucky to find a space!

I have not stayed in this hotel myself, and I have not eaten there, but I have visited there, while my friend was staying there for a few days. However the rooms are nice, and the parking is very nice as well. So I’ll give this a average marks.

My sister goes there, and did not like the treatment there. As she got the fake nail done, but it was sloppily done, and the lady was like “I’m top of the beauty world” and thinks that she knows everything better…

So my sister never went back there again.

Urbanite Maybe your sister should have written the review?

Burnus your review was clear and consise, but maybe your sister should join Qype, and add her own comments to yours Burnus

I love this DIY shop. it is more suited to a tradesmen store. It is bit like Jewson store. not like the Homebase or B&Q.

I have bought several items from there, and my word, they are very cheap and well competitive priced.

Even they have helped me a numerous of times, on which items to use, and gave me instructions on how to do stuffs. Like once time I have no clue on how to mix the concrete with what parts of sand, and cement, and water, they explained to me how I can do this, and they are very helpful!

So no wonder I still goes there all the time, if I needed something from them.

They sells from bricks to aggravates, decking, fencing, piping, doors, etc etc.

The guys in there are BRILLIANt, and sometimes had a good laugh with them!

Very small shop, does all repairs on the shoes.

The staff are great there, as they would give you an advice, to see if it is worth repairing the shoe, or not.

Even one time I have asked them for a wee piece of leather, to repair my belt, and they happily gave it away for free!

They also do the key cut, engraving, name door plaques, etc.

Great wee shop.

Some staff are quite cheeky and stuck up in there. When my sister and myself went in there to ask for informaton and help. They were not too bothered and bit cheeky.

I liked this cafe, very nice and posh interior. I was in there with my sister and my niece one day. We were with our friends, and we was chatting over a cakes and coffee. Even the armchair seats are very comfy, great for lazing and sitting in there for hours, and hours!

Also the staff service are amazing, when my niece have climbed out of her high chair, and accidently fell down on the floor and banged her head. The staff in the cafe had came to our assistance, and helped us.

However, she have ensured us with first aid information. Also she went to the kitchen and brought us a tea towel covered with ice, to reduce the swelling. it was very thoughtful of her.

Also the lady brought a free bowl of sweetie to cheer my niece up. Bless her!
