East Side Printers - Port Tennant
219 Port Tennant Road, Swansea, Wales SA1 8JU
27-11-2008
This is just the place to have all your printing jobs done. No job too small. Just the thing when you don’t want to print everything out yourself for advertising fliers, circular letters and anything else where you may need large numbers of documents. I found it worked out such a lot cheaper than printing ciruclar letters out myslef on the PC.
It can be quite difficult these days to find a good reliable printing company but I would definately recomend these printers they are very professional and efficient
Marina & Sa1 Properties - Maritime Quarter
Unit 2-3 Abernethy Square, Swansea, Wales SA1 1UH
27-11-2008
Just the place to find a property to rent in the SA1 area of Swanse, a new up and coming area built on the original docks site to the East of the town. The area itself is now very up and coming and there is a big demand for for properties to rent in such a desirable location.
The staff here are very friendly and helpful and were more than happy to show us around a large amount of properties. They were also very helpful in sending us emails with new properties coming up for rent.
East Side Insurance - Pontardawe
2 James Street, Swansea, Wales SA8 4LR
27-11-2008
A local insurance broker for those of us who don’t have access to the internet regularly.
The staff here are very helpful and friendly and will go out of their way to get you the best deal on all your insurance needs, from household to car and also travel insurance.
I have been dealing with them for quite some time now and its nice to get the personal touch you get from going into their office.
Leyland Paint Co - Port Tennant
98 Port Tennant Road, Swansea, Wales SA1 8JG
27-11-2008
A lovely decorating shop without having to go into the town centre or out of town shoping when living in the SA1 area of Swansea.
There is a huge selection of wallpaper in store plus many pattern books for mail order, which is available in the store within days. They have all the usual brands of paints plus their own range which is quite a lot cheaper the big named brands.
The staff there are very friendly and helpful and were very knowledgeable on decorating at home. The obly downside here is the parking as it is on the main road but you can usually manage to park nearby.
Abbey - Abingdon
23 Bury Street, Abingdon, Oxfordshire OX14 3QT
24-11-2008
I bank with both Abbey and Barclays, and I much prefer the Abingdon branch of Abbey to Barclays.
It is in a very handy location in the precinct, and always seems quiet and tranquil. There are hardly ever any people waiting to be served, and there are always advisors available to speak to if you need advice.
There are 2 cash machines, one inside and one outside.
Barclays Bank - Abingdon
2 The Square, Abingdon, Oxfordshire OX14 5AS
24-11-2008
I find the Abingdon Barclays quite good. It is in the the square behind the senotaph monument, next to the new Ask restaurant.
There is a cash machine inside, and also one outside which is bizarrely raised and has a step to get up to it.
The counter usually only has a few people waiting to be served, and the staff seem quite quick and efficient.
I just wish it was still possible to phone your own branch rather than a national call centre!
Dorothy Perkins - Abingdon
26 Bury Street, Abingdon, Oxfordshire OX14 3QT
24-11-2008
The tiny Abingdon branch of Dorothy Perkins is a bit disappointing, although it is nice to have a well-known fashion chain in the town.
If there are a few customers in the shop it can be hard to get to where you want, as the rails are quite close together.
They have a nice selection of clothes, costume jewellery and underwear at a reasonable price, not the hugest choice but it whets your appetite!
The staff are always helpful and efficient.
M & Co - Abingdon
14 Market Place, Abingdon, Oxfordshire OX14 3HA
24-11-2008
M& co is a largish shop in the Abingdon Market place selling some really high quality and beautiful women’s clothes, everything from coats and handbags to summer dresses and sarongs!
The staff are delightful, really helpful and polite.
The shop is well-designed with easy access between the rails and an intuiive layout that makes it easy to find what you are looking for or just browse for something nice!
Millets Farm - Garford
Abingdon, Oxfordshire OX13 5PD
24-11-2008
Millets farm is brilliant for fresh fruit and vegetables, especially pick-your-own, and also for extra-special items such as indulgent jams and chutneys, mouth-watering cakes (including whole sponges etc) from the bakery counter, and a huge choice of meats and meat products on the meat counter.
There is a cafe next door to the farm shop which although a little bit expensive does a delicious hot chocolate among other things, as well as serving hot meals.
The Craft Kabin at Millets (but not owned by Millets) sells a smallish selction of craft items, which are on the expesive side but good for ideas!
Then there is also the large garden centre which also has its own small cafe.
The Clarks Shop - Abingdon
12 Bury Street, Abingdon, Oxfordshire OX14 3QX
24-11-2008
The staff in the Clarks shop are absolutely wonderful, they seem to know the meaning of good old-fashioned customer service and are always on hand to offer helpful advice.
I have always liked Clarks shoes, they seem to be of a better quality and fit better than other shoes, so it is nice to have such a well-stocked Clarks shop in Abingdon.
It is also handy for things such as coloured shoe polish to match a certain pair of shoes, which you cant always find elsewhere.
