The Christmas Adventure, Stockfield Park - Wetherby
Stockeld Park, Wetherby, West Yorkshire LS22 4AN

This is such an exciting place to take the family at Christmas. There is lots going on, you can visit Santa’s Grotto, do outdoor skating. We enjoyed the nordic skiing on a mile long trail through enchanted woodland. There is a cafe, a shop a snowflake.
It’s not a cheap excursion when you add it all together, but well worth it as a Christmas treat – really magical and seasonal.
Acorn Books - Leeds

Amazing, wonderful, small, and intimate little haven near Headingly with a perfect little selection of Chrisitan books for all. One of my favourite shops.

High quality nursery equipment and pushchairs etc. Some gorgeous maternity clothes, good if you need to go to a special occasion, a limited range of baby wear, good for gifts. They also have a few toys etc. It’s a great shop to come to when you are first pregnant and think about all the things you need, and then go and buy them cheaply somewhere else. In my humble opinion.
lilmiss1982 Thanks for this I was wondering where I should look for a dress i’ve got a wedding coming up in December and will be 5 months and might need a proper maternity dress.

Habitat - Batley
218 Bradford Road, Redbrick Mill, Batley, West Yorkshire WF17 6JF

Habitat isn’t as expensive as it used to be, and the pieces are still really original. The store is so cool, a really lovely quiet, serene atmosphere, everything looks great, it’s only when you get it home that it looks wierd and completely out of place. I love the kids items they do, they have great sales here after Christmas too.

My husband really hates the smell of popcorn, and thus doesn’t like it here, because it stinks of really sweet popcorn. The enourmous foyer is full of every kind of overpriced zit inducing snack known to man. I say snack, but they are like whole meals! On the plus side, you can see virtually any film at virtually any time. Not cheap though, but no where is now.
Borders - Batley

I love it here, i could spend a whole day just browsing through the books, and popping upstairs for gorgeous starbucks coffee. The children’s section is amazing, like a playground of books, so inviting and colourful. It also has a paperchase inside with really overpriced but highly original and lovely stationary. Borders has a great magazine section, I always go there for the unusual magazines that are difficult to get hold of otherwise. I could happily spend a fortune in this shop it’s ace. Highly recommended
Farrow Medical Centre - Bradford
177 Otley Road, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD3 0HX

Excellent doctors. All the GP’s are great, very kind, and extremely helpful. There is open surgery every morning which is fantastic, if you get there nice and early you can be seen first. All the rooms have small boxes of toys for children to play with, there are several clean toilets. Not very interesting magazines to read though.
Vets For Pets - Bradford
266 Harrogate Road, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD2 3RH

This shop is very clinical and professional, easy to find, good parking. Quite expensive, but probably very good quality advice and products. They were a bit snooty about my cat ignorance, but very caring with our kitten, who was/is very well looked after there. Although I do feel a little intimidated about asking for advice now!
Pets At Home - Bradford
Valley Road, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 4AG

We bought 2 goldfish here for £5 - admittedly they died a week later, but I think that was probably more our fault than theirs. Also because they died within a week, we got 2 free replacements! The man/boy in the shop knew everything there was to know about fish, and kept them himself, very helpful and patient with the children who were very particular about which fish they wanted.
Wyke Library - Wyke

A great little library, very willing, friendly approachable staff, a great way to kill a few hours with children if its raining. You can rent DVD’s for £1 as well. They were very understanding when my toddler accidentally ripped one of the books. They sell books off for 10p every now and then, there are some great bargains to be had.
