The Body Shop - Burton-on-Trent

Coopers Square, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire DE14 1DF

30-05-2009

I do love the smell of this shop, the products are nicely spaced out so you can shop and see things in peace but the items are very expensive. It is better when they have a sale on but even then things are still too expensive for me. This does not stop me from going into the shop and having a look. The staff are friendly enough. This shop is normally quite busy at weekends.

Boots The Chemists - Burton-on-Trent

1 Coopers Square, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire DE14 1DG

30-05-2009

This is one of the biggest Boots in the area and has some great ranges. Once you overcome you cloud of perfume when you walk in, all of the products are in order in the aisles and are well price marked. They not only stock all the main brands but also the Boots brands which are just as good and better value. The range of baby stuff is excellent and they have a pharmacy counter.

Anderson Dixon - Burton-on-Trent

5-6 Market Place, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire DE14 1HA

These Estate Agents are based in Burton On Trent and are more for the selling or buying houses market rather than lettings. They have a greay website which is easy to use and very informative. The staff are very friendly and they offer a professional and good service. Being in Burton Centre, people do tend to look in their window so selling a house with these would be a good move.

John German - Burton-on-Trent

1 Lichfield Street, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire DE14 3QZ

I have always found these Estate Agents to be very professional and offer a great service. They do tend to attract the higher value end properties but carry houses from a small budget upwards. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. They also do a letting service which I have not used but is supposed to be avery good service.

Wickes - Burton-on-Trent

Wellington Road, Insley Industrial Estate, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire DE14 2AP

30-05-2009

This is a fab store in Burton On Trent and has most things to do with DIY. They not only stock the main brands but also Wickes own brands too. These tend to sell the spares and parts that could not get in a B&Q or Focus. The car park is adequate and they even have big trolleys so you can pick up doors, fence panels etc. The prices are not too bad.

Halifax - Burton-on-Trent

9 High Street, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire DE14 1HU

30-05-2009

I have found this branch of Halifax to be superb. The queues for the cashiers are not normally to bad, but I have found that if I am doing something simple like paying a cheque in, then I use the paying in machine instead. The staff are very friendly and helpful and if you need any specialist help, you will need to make an appointment to see an advisor.

HSBC - Swadlincote

41 High Street, Swadlincote, Derbyshire DE11 8JE

30-05-2009

This is quite a good size for Swadlincote and normally has 3 or 4 cashiers on the tills. They are also a couple of mortgage advisors or customer service representatives in the bank too but I think you have to make an appointment if you need some specific help. the bank can get quite busy at lunch times and on Friday’s. The staff are very friendly.

Uttoxeter Railway Station - Uttoxeter

Station Road, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire ST14 8XG

30-05-2009

This station really is a waste and could be used for better routes to Birmingham and further afield but it only goes to either Crewe or Derby. The station is very simple and small, the timetables are clear and readily available to view. It does get a bit busy at peak times but the queues are not normally too bad. The biggest problem is the lack of parking here.

HSBC - Uttoxeter

35 Marketplace, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire ST14 8HH

30-05-2009

This Bank is in Uttoxeter Town Centre in Market place and although it is not as big as the ones in other towns it is still adqeuate enough to provide a really good banking service. They normally have 2/3 cashiers on at the tills and a customer service person around. The queues for this bank can be quite bad as there are not many banks in the town. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Bank House Hotel - Uttoxeter

Church Street, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire ST14 8AG

30-05-2009

This used to be a real top quality hotel and restaurant but I believe it has gone downhill since it has recently been took over. It is situated in Uttoxeter opposite the church. The bar is quite small and very expensive and there is not actually a lot of choice of beers or wines. It is a hotel and the prices were pretty reasonable. There is a smoking area at the rear of the hotel and it has two function rooms available for hire.
