Well worth a visit. There is a great deal to look around and plenty of interactive stuff to help both children and adults learn. The planetarium is fantastic, excellent graphics. Yes you have to pay £2 parking, but its only £2! For a charity you can’t complain especially when you can also upgrade your ticket to an annual pass for free if you gift aid. We will be taking my step-daughter here, she will love it!

A great place to spend a few hours on a weekend to keep both adults and kids entertained! Also penguins available for the youngsters which helps them balance and get a feel for the ice. Good fun and home to the Peterborough Panthers – also worth watching a match!

If you fancy a taste of home while in Frankfurt this is the place to go. Typical beers available, directly opposite main train station. Separate bar for smokers so you don’t have to be around the smoke, and they do an excellent Sunday roast!

A very nice hotel, only a 5 minute walk from the main train station. Easy walking to the centre of the city. We used this hotel as a base for a weekend and walked at least 13 miles around the city. Doesn’t look great from the outside, but very well decorated inside. The hotel is split into 2, on separate sides of the road. We stayed in the part of the hotel without the main reception – the lobby to this bit was only open during daytime hours. Outside of these hours you have to go to the main reception and walk under the road. But you would never know you are walking to a separate building as the walkway looks just like a normal hotel corridor. Definitely stay here next time I am in Frankfurt.

We came here while in Frankfurt for a weekend, selected based on reviews found on Qype. The menu is far from extensive, and if you haven’t yet learnt much German the menu is difficult to understand as there isn’t an English version available. However, the waiter was more than helpful with translations and the food was really nice too.

This is the main focal point of the town. Numerous events are put on here throughout the year, there is also a cinema screen with showings not too behind the main cinema chains. There is a cafe which provides freshly prepared food from a rather extensive menu. The local am-dram company also put on excellent panto performances here every year.

It is also where the Spalding tourist board is located.

A good traditional pub which sells independent brewery’s own everything. While this is unique, not all products are as good as the branded equivalent. However, while some drinks are therefore trial and error, you are at least supporting a local brewery. This said, the Pure Brewed Lager is a good alternative to Stella. Also, the pumps show the ABV which most places don’t. Frequented by locals this pub does have a lot of character.

Good place to come on a night out but it does get packed especially on a Friday and Saturday night. So if you want a seat get here fairly early. Food available too at decent prices. Pub garden available with seating for those warm evenings.

Sunland Hotel - Trianta

We stayed here in September 2011. Having read previous reviews on other websites, we were a bit dubious about going, however we were pleasantly surprised. Yes it’s basic, however as long as you’re not expecting 5* treatment you’ll be fine. There is a sister hotel across the road which is more ‘upmarket’, however we found the only things this hotel had which the Sunland didn’t was a nice reception (but who spends their holiday in the hotel reception anyway??) and entertainment – but if you want entertainment it only takes 1 minutes to walk across the road.

The hotel was quiet as we went after the school holidays, and there were plenty of sunbeds available throughout the day. It was a peaceful and relaxing base to explore the island. The hotel is a 15 minute transfer from the airport, so don’t be surprised when you see planes flying over the hotel as you need to remember it is only 15 minutes from the airport!

The food is basic, and I think you’d struggle to eat here every day for more than 1 week as the menu doesn’t change that much. However, when you remember it is a 2/ 3* hotel you can’t expect fancy menus each and every night.

We went all inclusive, and this not only gives you all inclusive at the Sunland, but also at the sister hotel too.

Overall good value for money.
