chef mickeys - Orlando

Orlando

well what can i say about chef mickeys within the contempory resort hotel, this is one of disneys luxury resorts and within this lovely hotel is chef mickeys, this was one of our favourite character meals, very advisable to book as we struggled to get in here, firstly they take your photo behind a large chef mickeys stand then they take you to your table, the server we had was terrific, she was so friendly and polite we could not have asked for a more friendly server, the characters we met were, mickey, donald, goofy, pluto and minnie mouse, the food was again very good and a buffet all you can eat dinner. they also have a little dance where you have to wave your napkins round your head. definately try and make a reservation here, you wont be disappointed.

crystal palace within the magic kindom is a really nice restaurant, character dining with pooh, tigger, piglet, and of course eyeore, set within a lovely victorian style white building on the left heading towards the magic kingdom at the end of main street usa, it is also a buffet style restaurant with lunch and dinner with the characters, booking is advisable with most disney restaurants which will soon be able to book online as well, my kids really enjoyed meeting winnie the pooh and friends, the food was very nice with plenty of choice and really nice desserts. for the kids there was chicken nuggets, pizza, pasta and salad and american style fries, they also liked the ice cream, they can also choose from the adult menu if they so wish, there was plenty of salad choices, and meat and pasta. a really nice attractive restaurant with friendly and helpful staff great for the little ones.

the centre mk is a huge shopping centre and is fairly well signposted from the m1, has plenty of parking with different areas for different parking charges eg there is red, yellow, purple and these areas all charge different. anyway the centre mk is huge and has plenty of shops with all the biggest names, there is a creche and toilets, the shops are all very large branches of familiar names, for example there is a very large woolworths on 2 levels, a huge hmv again on 2 levels a large next on 2 levels, british home stores on 2 levels, a large marks and spencers on 3 or 4 levels and a lovely food section. a huge huge john lewis and there is also the fairly new outside although covered addition with a large zavvi, and debenhams, back to the main centre there is a decent sized disneystore plus many speciality shops. this is a good shopping centre to visit particuly when the sales are on.

Gullivers Land - Newlands

Livingstone Drive, Milton Keynes MK15 0DT

22-11-2008

this is a great place to visit especially if you have small kids or children around 9 or 10, not far from the m1 motorway with plenty of parking, entrance fee is not too bad, there are plenty of rides and when we went in the summer holidays the lines were quite short and we had little wait. my son loved the pirate ship, and the small log flume and runaway train. they both enjoyed squirting the water on the firemans ride. there is a nice food court with a mcdonalds type restaurant, a sandwich area with baked potatoes and the kids liked there meals from here, there are the small shops at the entrance a nice sweetie shop, and the usual merchandise. my daughter who is 6 got to go on all the rides in the park so is good value for money.

we stayed at this hotel with first choice 2 years ago now, it is a very nice hotel very clean and pleasant with friendly helpful staff, a very large hotel, we had a nice pleasant room, with a large bathroom with bath and shower, we had a bedroom with a living area with pull out beds for the kids, a tv, a small kitchen area with fridge, cooking stuff and microwave, we also had a nice balcony area with tables and chairs, there was a decent shop with all the things you could need, if you go with first choice there is a great kids club which also has good activities throughout the day and an evening club so you can have a few hours to yourself, the food was not bad although a bit samey. good pools and a small play area across the bridge is another pool area with a pirate ship play area. not a bad hotel with some good ameneties.

well if you have the money and you want style and oppulance you have to stay at the grand floridian disneys top hotel, this beautiful white building is something to see, it has a monorail running through which takes you to the magic kingdom and epcot plus it can take you to the polynesian and the contempory, when you enter this hotel you see just how magic it is, a grand piano playing in the foyer and a large seating area, we did not stay here but we went to the disney princess character dinner which is a buffet and cinderella, prince charming, her stepsisters and stepmother all come to your tables and sign your autograph book and have your photo taken, the food was excellent and plenty of choice and you could go back as many times as you wanted. the staff as always are always mega polite and helpful. also if you have a few minutes take a walk along to the wedding chapel, it is beautiful

Disneyland Paris - Chessy

boulevard du Parc, 77777 Chessy

22-11-2008

this is our favourite park, i could write long essays about disney parks, you first enter through the beautiful entrance which is also part of the exclusive disneyland hotel, when you go through the turnstiles you enter into main street usa a great shopping area but leave this for later no point waisting time when there are ride to be had, there are a few “lands” here, we love pirates of the carribean it is one of our favourites, also the runaway train and the haunted mansion (which unfortuately is in french), the rides at disney are so well themed, there is also peter pan, snow white and pinocchio for the little ones not forgetting my little boys favourite its a small world, space mountain is a rollercoaster in the dark, have a look under the castle there is a surprise here which gets over looked. there is a good range of food from the reasonably priced to the more expensive, the shops along mainstreet are great with a large disneystore selling almost everything and on the other side there is a clothiers, jewellers, fine art and photography shop. dont forget to catch the train for a ride around the park.
