A pleasant meeting place, sunbathing around the fountain in Summer, ice skating in Winter, Wine festivals, Kid’s play group in the holidays and much more there is almost always something going on.
Nice back drop of the old opera and easy to get to with public transport.

Started in 1973 as the Gallus Multicultural Centre it has blossomed into one of Frankfurt’s important theatres, based in the historic Adler Werk.

Well, I can only comment on the “Gent’s”.
After negotiating the stairs down one is greeted by a new, clean, light and airy toilet.
Free to use the urinal but 50 cents for a cubicle, free soap and hand towels available.

The Schwanheim dunes. Well, there is sand there but don’t worry about needing a camel or water rations I only saw a few patches of the stuff. Mostly grassed area with old fruit trees amongst woods, copses, there is scope for a good wander, maybe bring a picnic. Please don’t disturb a precious and singular biotope :)

For a quick, cheap, tasty and fast meal this place is hard to beat. A clean, no frills restaurant with friendly and efficient staff.
No monosodium glutamate is used and the ingredients are all fresh and prepared to order, waiting time is short as a wok is a very fast cooking method.

Huge Christmas market/fair with other ones in places as far flung as Edinburgh.
It is invariably cold and crowded but that makes the Glühwein all the more welcome. The market has remained quite traditional, not many modern attractions but lots of handwork stands, plenty of possibilities to eat and drink too much.

After many problems due to fraud (!!!) the Gallery eventually opened and offered 7 storeys of shops and a confusing array of lifts, ramps, stairs and elevators all enclosed in glass and steel.
On the roof top is a viewing platform and a walkway to the Kaufhof restaurant. Views of the city can be enjoyed.
An IMAX cinema was added up there in the late 1990’s.

A quiet oasis in the middle of the city, when the Palmengarten is too expensive and Grüneburg park too full go here.
Plants from around the world, herb gardens, poisonous plants and plenty of walks and secluded seating for an occasional rest up.

Oh dear, Punch and Judy!
The show scared me so much when we were on holiday at Walton on the Naze (I was only about 4 years old) that I can hardly bear to write the names!!

Adjoining the town library is the gallery dedicated to Alfred East, holding important collections donated by Sir Alfred East and Thomas Cooper Gotch, both born in Kettering.
A nice, compact gallery to spent an hour or two, exhibitions, concerts, talks, plenty to do, check out the web site :)
