Lovely old building which has been well decorated inside – feels very homely and welcoming. Love the restaurant end – would be great to hire this for a family party as its a spectacular space. The food however, in my view, is trying to be a little too fancy – lots of ‘confits’, ‘parfaits’, ‘jus’ and ‘coulis’ references on the menu ;-) I had the Haddock and chips most recently and it came out served in a metal chip pan on a slate plate. While it looked good, it was actually very tricky to eat.
Certainly worth a visit although for me it’s probably more for a special occasion, rather than somewhere I’d visit regularly.
