333 - Shoreditch
333 Old Street, London EC1V 9LE
01-12-2007
The 333 mother bar put together 2 different places : 333 downstairs, while upstairs Mother makes an ideal lounging and drinking space.
Music is the main concern at Mother regularly boast sparkling line-ups covering everything from the darkest drum’n’bass to crunchy beats and breaks.
Point of beer at 3,80 pounds..but if there is just one reason to go there…this is the decoration.
I went there with some friends on Monday, and the bar was pretty crowded after midnight, and we danced until the closure, at 3 am.
You can also go there during the WE to dance..always free entry!
Abeno Too - Covent Garden
17 Great Newport Street, London WC2H 7JE
01-12-2007
This place, just nearby Leicester Square train station, will allow you to have a funny japanese meal.
The waiters and chefs at Abeno Too are Japanese, always a good sign in a city where inexpensive Japanese food is usually cooked by Chinese and Koreans.
Their specialities are onomiyaki, a savoury pancake that is immensely popular in Japan. You haev choice of meat, fish and vegetables you would like to add in.
Each table, and the long sharing bar, has a hot plate, and the pancakes are cookedwith in front of you.
Average price for a meal goes from 7 to 17 pounds…and you will be full.
I advise you to try their Asahi japanese beer.
Salvador and Amanda - Covent Garden

A wonderfull place to drink good sangria I especially advise you the sangria Tursday night, whiwh allow you to drink jug of sangria for half price : 9 pounds for one liter.
After that, you can dance until the closure, and Dj is quite good.
Waiters and waitresses are so nice, and evrything is here to make you feel good.
You can also try their paella for 8,50 pounds on Tuesday, or eat tapas any time.
I really love this place!
Gili Gulu Restaurant - Covent Garden
50 Monmouth Street, London WC2H 9DG

If you like japanese food, I mean sushi, sashimi...and so one, this place is for you.
You just seat down, and make you choice.
The principle is to eat all you can. And you will pay 14,65 pounds..they quote less but service is added on your final bill.
This is quite not expensive when you think how much is on roll of sushis in a regular japanse restaurant.
So just learn about how to use chopstick!
Hamburger Union - Soho
22 Dean Street, Soho, London W1D 3RY

As I know how eat american..as I know how good they are in hamburger cooking..as I know how big portions they eat...I can recommend you this place.
This restaurant looks American, and the food tastes American..portions are huge, and for a relative good price.
You have a jug of tap water as in New York.
After order and pay, take a seat and wait for your food..
When you are ready to eat, just enjoy..take your time, take advantage of the place and ambiance.
There are more than one Hamburger Union in London, but menu still purposes the same products.
Red Veg - Soho
95 Dean Street, London W1D 3EG

When I was looking for this place, at the beginning, I didn't find it...
The door is hidden, but when you finally get in...
I ate a vegetarian burger, less than 3 pounds, big, and very tastefull.
I can advise you to go there and eat something..pasta are good as well.
But this place is so small, that there are just 3 tables, so this is better to take away or just seat a couple of minutes..this is not a good place to have a long time meal...
Harrods - Knightsbridge
87-135 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7XL
17-11-2007
Harrods is well know all over the world..just thanks to many movies that are taking place there!
So when you visit London you have to visit it....but don't think you willl buy anything!
Everything is too much expensive, even for foods, very healthy, or clothes...
But there are just very good stuff..so you pay for quality.
As a simple tourist, you can just take a look, walk around, visit other part of south London nearby...
Harrods is the equivalent of Les Galleries Lafayette in France or Macys in America.
Stables Market Camden - Camden
Chalk Farm Road, London NW1 8AH
11-11-2007
The Camden Market is the most colored place in London, and the most open minded I never saw.
There is everythink you want, everything you need..and even more than this.
You could eat chinese food for 3 pounds (Rice with chicken), or Indian cuisine..and so one!
You can find bags, clothes, decorative objects...evrything!
If you are in London, you have to visit this market...
You will never know when shops will open..but no worries, even if this is at 1 pm, they will open evryday.
American Retro - Soho
35 Old Compton Street, London W1D 5JX
11-11-2007
This shop, in the gay neightbourhood, purposes many funny and retro stuff. You will be able to find some clothes, plastic duck, clock, many decorative objects...
Prices are neither too expensive, not cheap..London price.
So if you have time, I advise you to get in!
RUBY LOUNGE - Kings Cross
33 CALEDONIAN ROAD, London N1 9BU
29-10-2007
This bar offers many kind of cocktails and great seats.
Nothing really specific, just a bar in the middle of all these pubs.
Its setting invites you to be unstressed-out, and during the week, its customers are quiet.
Drink prices are reasonables : 5.50 for a classic cocktail, 6.50 for a champagne cocktail, wine, soft....
Whatever, good bar for a before, or just a drink.
