Dropped in here for the first time tonight and was really suprised. For the first time in a long time I struggled to know what to order, not seen a menu like this before. Some proper twists on the English classics, it’s like midsomer murders on speed. And it’s not over priced either. A real gem in the area

Always been dissapointed with this place, not sure if it’s the lack of atmosphere or uninspiring menu. It’s a real shame as Clapham is crying out for a quality Thai but this place just doesn’t hit the spot

since the sad demise of the Codfather it’s quite difficult to know where to get your fish fingers nowadays (and not the infernos sort).. So The Fish Club is your best bet northside, it’s certainly a change of tuna from your usual chippy and i trout you’ll find anything else like it around there
I’m more of a traditionalist in these matters but i decided to put my heart and sole into my visit and screamed what the hallibut, lets give it a go!
To be honest I codn’t be any happier with what I had to eat although I don’t want to go overboard with my plaice
One thing though, some of the other guests were quite shellfish and loud but I managed not to loose my tempura with them and remained as clam as you like, in the end by the time i finished eating I was kippered, it was shrimply the best.
If you have nothing else to octipi your time you should give it a try and en-dorsal what I say

went here last saturday, was ok but like most of Balham it lacked any sort of atmosphere to make you want to stay. The seating area outside is good though with loads of space.
It’s got a fish tank too, in fact I like to think this is where those fish who have done their time in infernos come to retire.

I’ve been pretty down on this place without ever having been here, in fact I’ve refused to go in with ahunter a few times as they don’t serve pints.
But I threw caution to the wind and went in last Friday night, it was a good laugh, admitedly some people did act like they’d had their brains extracted and replaced with wasabi peas but most people were having a good time and hey it beats infernos!
One negative, trying to get to the bogs takes forever as it does get packed, but on the plus side once I did get there i had one of those conversations that makes me truly love living in Clapham….?!
Man at urinal: Farts the most horrendous sound you’ve ever heard
Me: I acknowledge with a snigger
Man at urinal: “ha ha ha wot wot, that’s what happens when you have a cornish pasty at twickers wot wot wot”

I mean it’s an O’Neills so what do you expect?! It’s good to come in here some times just because it isn’t full of twerps in fancy dress and blokes with straightened hair.
It’s got a quizzy too - not enough places have a quizzy in Clapham (do any?!) so it gets a big thumbs up from me.

ok this isn’t the creme de la creme of Sainsbury’s. I can’t see them sending Jamie Oliver there to record one of his cheeky mockney feed your family for a fiver ads. BUT, unlike most supermarkets in London there are some brilliant checkout staff. Properly friendly and always up for a bit of cheeky melon related banter!

eggcelent!
this is a proper cafe, if there’s roast lamb on the menu on a sunday morning you know you’re in a good place!!
The full english breakfasts come in about 20 different combinations but you know you are going to be happy when you leave. It is spot on.\\if you’re in a rush then grab a take away bacon and egg sandwich, hits the spot harder than clearasil
