Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter - Newcastle

Benton North Farm, Benton Lane, Newcastle upon tyne NE12 8EH

31-12-2008

We got our dog from here and were really pleased with the service we got. There are a lot of dogs, a high number of Staffordshire Bull Terriers or cross Staffies. We were looking for a small family dog and I was a regular visitor to both sites before we found the right dog.
The staff checked that the kids were fine with the dog before letting us take her home. If you’re after a dog it’s worth visiting but be patient and visit a few times as you might not find what you’re looking for first time.

W M Morrison Supermarkets - Newcastle

The Killingworth Centre, Newcastle upon tyne NE12 6YT

31-12-2008

Good shop with a good range of products especially food. There are usually soem good bargains to be had especially the buy one get one free offers. CDs and DVDs are usually competitively priced, particular the new ones. The bakery section is well worth a visit and check out the wine offes.

Asda Stores - Benton

Whitley Road, Newcastle upon tyne NE12 9SJ

31-12-2008

This is a good sized ASDA shop with a full range of products available. There is plenty of free car parking and usually plenty of staff on the checkouts. One of the good things about this shop is if you ever have to take anything back then there never seems to be any problem. I’m not one to complain but over the years I’ve had to take a few things back and it’s been fine. A couple of weeks ago my wine dropped out of my wine carrier and 2 of the bottle smashed. I was at home when this happened but took the bottle necks and the wine carrier back to the shop and was given replacement bottles.
Staff are always friendly.

The Union Rooms - Newcastle

48 Westgate Road, Newcastle upon tyne NE1 1TT

31-12-2008

If you’re after cheap beer with a good atmosphere I can recommend the Union Rooms. It’s part of the Weatherspoons chain. Food is served although I haven’t tried any. As I’ve mentioned the beer prices are great and it’s got plenty of space if you’re in a big group. Lots of different areas to suit different moods, some are a bit quieter than other parts.

Journal Tyne Theatre - Newcastle

105-119 Westgate Road, Newcastle upon tyne NE1 4AG

31-12-2008

I’ve been to the Tyne Theatre loads of times and would recommend it to anyone. The viewing has always been good and the sound is good. I’ve seen pantos and comics although I haven’t seen any bands, but I can’t see any problems with the acoustics.

UCI Cinema - Newcastle

Osprey Drive, Silverlink Retail Park, Newcastle upon tyne NE28 9NP

31-12-2008

What you would expect from a multiplex cinema. It has all the new releases, all the usual food and drinks available. I finid the seats are really comfortable, with plenty of leg space. There is plenty of free parking as it’s next to the Silverlink shopping area.
Online booking recommended as it saves having to queue for tickets.

Shiremoor Farm - North Shields

Middle Engine Lane, North Shields NE29 8DZ

31-12-2008

Good place to come for a pub lunch. Extensive menu along with options for children. It’s usually busy but there is plenty of parking. All the food I’ve had has been of a high qulaity and there is often new items on the menu.
It’s a bit pricey but then the food is good.

Barker & Stonehouse - Newcastle

Leazes Park Road, Strawberry Buildings, Newcastle upon tyne NE1 4PQ

31-12-2008

Located next to the football ground, there are a few customer carpark spaces but you’ll be lucky to get one. There is a good selction of ranges. We were looking for a leather sofa and there was a really good selection with varying quality of leather. The staff were friendly and helpful as well as knowledgable about their products. Free coffee and fizz were available. In the end the sofa we had seen on the internet wasn’t in the Newcastle branch but the staff were happy to check out stock availability in other branches.

Matalan - Newcastle

The Killingworth Centre, Newcastle upon tyne NE12 6YT

31-12-2008

Plenty of car parking and a large shop. A good selection of products although not all of it of a great quality. Having said that the prices are very reasonable for what you’re getting and you can get some even better bargains in their sales. The staff seem friendly. Worth checking out, especially for kids clothes.

Deichman Shoes - Newcastle

Unit 11-13 The Killingworth Centre, Newcastle upon tyne NE12 6YT

31-12-2008

If you’re local then this is handy shoe shop to try out. The prices are really good and there are usually offers on. The selection isn’t always that great but there does seem to be a fairly regular change over of stock.
