Johnsons Cleaners - Bexhill-on-Sea

14 Western Road, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex TN40 1DX

06-12-2011

The friendliness and attitude of the staff are great. Always happy to help and their prices and quality of service is excellent. No job too big or small.

Sadies Cafe - Bexhill-on-Sea

31 St Leonards Road, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex TN40 1HP

26-11-2010 (updated on 15-07-2011)

Everyone loves a cooked breakfast. Sadies sell the best one in Bexhill by far. I’ve tried them all and couldn’t find better.

The Traditional breakfast is filling but if you have a hearty appetite, try the Farmhouse. It’s enormous and reasonably priced.

If fry-ups aren’t your thing, they sell burgers, jacket potatoes, sandwiches etc. They also do main meals like steak, gammon, scampi, cottage pie etc.

They also sell real coffee and not just instant.

The Mill - Eastbourne

Willingdon Drove, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN23 8AL

18-11-2008 (updated on 15-06-2010)

The Mill is a chain style pub/restaurant that specialises in 2 for 1 meals. The 2 for 1 offer is available all day every day and is even available on their light meals, for those with a smaller appetite.

The food is always very good and is served quite quickly. Staff are friendly and always on hand if you need something.

There is an outdoor play area for the kids and this is fine if the weather is OK.

The food is fairly standard chain style cuisine with burgers, chicken, curries, steaks etc but the menu doesn't change often so it's not somewhere most people would want to eat regularly. Weekends can get busy and there is no bookings taken for tables. At really busy times (Sundays in the summer) you might have to wait up to 30 minutes for a table.

As a pub it's not the most homely venue as there are no real quiet areas (unless you sit by a window facing the car park). The locals use it as it's only one of a few pubs in the area.

There is a good size car park on site but it is next to a Travelodge and gets busy at certain times of the year.

Tesco - Eastbourne

Eastbourne, East Sussex BN23 6QD

28-11-2008

Tesco petrol station is my preferred petrol station in Eastbourne. Not only do you get Clubcard points, but this petrol station is normally the cheapest in town, along with ASDA.

They also have the highest octane Super Unleaded petrol (99 octane) in town which is 5p per litre more than normal 95 unleaded. This fuel is very good for performance and turbo cars.

The petrol station has pay@pump facilities for those that want to buy fuel quickly. The petrol station also has a small shop but they tend to either stock the major brands only or Tesco’s own brands, not usually both.

There is a Jet Wash on site which takes pound coins and a Free air/water machine.

There is also a cash machine outside which offers free (no charge) withdrawals.

The only downside to this petrol station is that it can get very busy at times for both fuel and jet wash so you can be in for a wait.

Rother District Council - Bexhill-on-Sea

Town Hall London Road, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex TN39 3JX

The Council deal with a lot of public services which are funded by local tax payers in the form of Council Tax but do not provide everything. They collect council tax on behalf of East Sussex County Council, Sussex Police and East Sussex Fire and Rescue and around 10% is retained by Rother.

Some of the services they provide:
Rubbish collection
Recycling
Public toilets
Pest control
Food hygiene inspections
Tourist information services
Museums
Beaches
Parks
Planning approval
Street naming and numbering
Emergency planning

Some of the services they don't provide:
Roads
Street lighting
Trading standards
Schools and education
Social services
Libraries

Kings Drive Service Station - Eastbourne

Kings Drive, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN21 2UH

19-11-2008 (updated on 21-11-2008)

ESSO Petrol Station opposite Eastbourne District General Hospital (DGH).

The forecourt is a reasonable size with 8 possible pump locations. Fuel Prices are fairly competitive but not always the cheapest in town.

There is a car wash on site along with air and vacuum. Shop is small but carries a reasonable range of newspapers, magazines, food, drink, flowers and charcoal briquettes!

Calamar Fish Bar - Eastbourne

Antrim Court, Pembury Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN23 7LU

20-11-2008

The fish and chips here are the best in Eastbourne. All the food is of good quality at very reasonable prices. The battered sausages are to die for!

There is a seating area if you want to eat in and plenty of free parking outside. The staff are always friendly and at busy times if you have to wait, there are always magazines and newspapers as well as a TV.

Pevensey Castle - Pevensey

Castle Road, Pevensey, East Sussex BN24 5LE

20-11-2008

I grew up right next to this castle and have spent many hours here. I have also brought my kids back to the castle and they enjoy it too. There is plenty to see and do within the castle walls and although it may seem expensive to get in, there is plenty to do without paying. The scenery is fantastic and the paths around and inside make an excellent day out. There are two churches to visit either end of the castle, including St. Mary’s, the first the Normans built. There is also the villages of Westham and Pevensey which has nice little shops.

There is plenty of free on street parking nearby and a pay and display when it gets busy.

Tulip Inn Amsterdam City West - Osdorp-Midden

Reimerswaalstraat 5, 1069 AE Amsterdam

20-11-2008

Nice comfortable hotel on the outskirts of the city. Lobby, bar and restaurant are quite modern. Corridors look a bit dated.

Free parking outside although it is limited.

Prices are good.

Cappadocia Grill - Eastbourne

61 Susans Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN21 3TG

20-11-2008

This is by far the best place I have found to buy Pizzas in Eastbourne. The deep crust pizzas are fantastic value and the best tasting. Better than the likes of Dominos and Pizza Hut.

Their kebabs and burgers are good too.
