I arrived at the Astra feeling rather distressed as I'd walked out of the original B and B I'd booked into in Uplands Road in disgust. As a single woman travelling alone in London I was very relieved to be welcomed by Toni at the Astra - nothing was too much trouble for her and she showed me to a room that was small but lovely and clean and cosy.
Breakfast was a make it yourself affair in the small kitchen which suited me fine but if you want waitress service then this might not suit you. I would definitely stay here again and I think the Astra offers value for money in a place that feels a bit more like someone's home than an impersonal hotel.
