14 may tue night  3 of us  on a filthy rainy  nite  car park  was  packed  pub  was  warm  and  welcoming  and  had a nice table in the corner  
specials board is a good  read   wanted  to  try  the whole lemon sole but  had the rib eye steak  mmmm nice  sauce     had  food  envy  at  chicken and  bacon  stack   am  liking  the  garnishes  and  accomp   sald   nice  selection    no limp  lettuce  here   the tandoori  sizzler  looked  very  good   as  well   all in  all  a  great  evening

  table for  4   staff were  lovely  we  could watch a wedding being photographed whilst we ate
bride had a fabulous dress on   house red  was  ok    starter of goats cheese was yummy   gb  pea  and  sparagus soup  was  very   tasty    mains of  roast beef  were   good   lots of roastys    nice  swede   and  cabbage    yorky  puddings  were   lovely  a  bit  burnt  on  the  bottom    eton mmess  with  rasb  was  delish   in  a  brandy snap  basket   fab   liz  cheeseboard  looked   ok    again   not  enough  bread   for  ate   soup       service  was   good    gorg   setting  
  hot  outside  on  the  terrace   £25  for  3  good  courses  and  coffee     would like to  go  at  night  to  see  it  all  lit up

  portions  were  good  would go back   if  didn't  live  in  brum
the  staff  had  a  good  laugh  with  us  

22  mar  2013  fab pub  nice   village 
  went to choose  our puppy at the other end of the village   lovely  evening  
  great  crispy  belly pork  delish  mash   nice   service   good  atmosphere   husb   loved   his  venison and  chips  were  delish  loads  of  portion  size   I  would  recommend   this  eatery  any  time

finally got served with  burger   and  chips  a bit  dissap  but  they were  busy 
bit  mediocre  the  open  fireplace  was  lovely 

Tues 16 aprl 2013 nice quiet lunch on a sunny afternoon  got a quiet cosy corner of the bar  the  2  members of staff  gem  and  laura  were  very  informative   had a look at  the  menu   had  a  large glass of   chenin sprizter   and  chose   corned beef hash  strter   very  nice  with  a  fried  egg on  top   and  then  duck for  main   nice  dauphonoise  potatoe  with  carrots  and  crushed  peas jus  was  tasty   loads  of  duck  think it  was  a bout  7  slices  nicely  cooked   I  would  recommend here  but  I  haven't  been  when  it  has  been   busy  as  others  have  I  loved it   would  cme  again  possibly  on  a  satur   the  village drive  though  looks  interesting  for  a  mooch

fri 30 march  2013    went here for a burger   after hospit  apt   was  fine  lamb burger with nice fries  and  loads  of  rocket   decent  rose  house  as well    £16  all in   sat  in  the  window    at  front    was  a  bit  chilly   this  was  at   330  on  fri  afternoon  still quite  busy  though     
10 oct went here for another lunch  but  really  ill with heavy cold   the barman  took pity on me and made me a big mug of honey and lemon  made me feel so much better   caring sharing staff   wowzer   oh  had  extra delish  eggs royale  again with  superb smoked salmon  cannot  fault  anything  promise to have something else next time   just     fab     21  sep went here for brunch today  great menu had  eggs benedict with  smoked salmon   delish  its now my fave pub    free  tap water  iced  and  fruited  at  the  end of the  bar   delish  carrot cakes  all ahomemade on the bar    very  good menu   nice atmosphere   the  star of harborne

3 mar fri nite attended a tribute night the vandellas really good meal was brill nice prawn cocktail to start with bit too much sauce loads of crayfish and prawn yummo then the main my husb filet steak was really TINY I know but there was a £7.50 addit cost with this which we did know about my fish was lovely salmon nice sauce good selec of veggies cheese board was quite decent as well I would recommend a tribute night as nothing was wrong with anything tables were a bit close together but other than that brill

30 jan  wedn  new menu  50% off mains  so  we  went from work  it  was  fine   nothing  new on  menu  apart from chicken and chorizo bake  which looked  interesting  and  didn't  come with CHIPS    varying things ordered  a  horrid baked potatoe  microwaved  yeuk   my  scampi  was  fine   brown ham and tomato sarnie  can't  go  wrong  there   the  ham  egg and chips  looked  the  best    the  oak  is  what  it  is  nothing  special   good  bar  staff   and   50%  off  which  we  were  emailed  about  well  enough  said 

got all I needed  for  my  rocky horror costume   hat  boa  tutu  stockings   very entertaining with  the stall holders   was  directed  to  diff  stalls  to get  a  better bargain  great  stuff        have used the market  before  for  eyebrow  threading  '  what you see is what  you  get'  stop  the  snobs  and  get  in there  fabby   its a real  eye opener if you trail round to the  food  market   the  goats  heads  are   unbelievable  brilliant   and  its  good    for  fish        am  a  big   fan
