Eating here right now and with every dish that arrives i am more impressed. Very authentic japanese food, a nice choice from the menu, authentic style and very friendly servicenmake this a full score and must visit place if you love japanese food. Chefs are japanese and know exactly what they are doing. Must try: the spinach bacon salad. This place is very small and kinda hidden and has one osbtacle when trying to find it or getting here: it has no chinese name. So just bring the address or call in for directions when u r on the way. Staff are very helpful and super friendly.

A very nice old beijing style restaurant with authentic furniture and set up. The food is ficused on the pear which at some point appears in almost every dish. Portions are not as gigantic as in other typicak beijing places, but the ammount is good and that way one can try more different things.. thr famous pear jiuce (梨汤) looked really nice on the other tables but when we ordered, they were out of it and didn’t manage to get us an order of it before we had finished the meal. Service is friendly but a bit slow. The location is a bit hidden. Easiest way to get there: go to meitan dasha (every cab driver knows that) and then ask the newsstand owner there for “xiao diao li tang”. It’s just behing one corner inside an older apartment compound.

nice restaurant and bar in salzburg’s old town. usually very crowded. serves local austrian specialties, heavy stuff but yummy. staff are a bit too busy to be really friendly but the service is ok. the place has several larger and smaller rooms, some of which are for non-smokers. with the door shut air inside gets really stuff and bad, so getting a seat outdoors would be an advantage :)

netter gasthof mit ausgezeichnetem essen, besonders zu empfehlen: backhendl. hier wird – anders als in vielen restaurants – vor dem panieren die haut entfernt, wodurch die ganze angelegenheit wesentlich leichter. leider gabs im restaurant eine unmenge an (riesigen) fliegen, die einem in ihrer großen anzahl auch beim beste essen den appetit verderben, weiters scheint im ganzen lokal geraucht zu werden. ansonsten sehr empfehlenswert, speziell im sommer, wenn man auch im freien sitzen kann…

Tokyo Bay is one of the newest Japanese restaurants in town. The layout is very modern which is a refreshing change. The place consists of a restaurant floor and an upper lounge/bar floor. The food is mostly Japanese in a modern and European-adopted interpretation. The sushi selection is outstanding for Salzburg. Overall the place is fancy and a bit different with above-average prices (especially for the neighborhood there). Tokyo Bay's staff is very friendly and most of the food can be delivered or picked up for take-away.

sagenhaft is a nice restaurant in grödig - just a few minutes drive from downtown salzburg. the interior is modern and elegant and there is a nice garden which offers additional tables in summer.

the menu consists of mainly austrian dishes - some very traditional, some more modern and creative - spiced up with some exotic dishes and ingredients.

quality is pretty good and fair for the price. reservations are only necessary on the weekend

try this place if you want some good austrian food without the usual alpine-kitchy environment.

auerhahn is a very nice high end restaurant in salzburg's train station area. it is a bit hidden bit very worth looking for it. the menu is quite short with a special 4 or 5 course set menu which seems to be the best seller. the food was very delicious and the interior is a mix of tradition and modern elements. staff are friendly but not the fastest.

the only minus are the bathrooms which were not really clean.

if you wanna try austrian food on high end level, this is the place to go!

i recommend making reservations, but don't use email - they don't seem to check it - our reservation was not on the list...
