From outside it looked much like a many other modern European restaurants. Once we entered there was something not quite right about the décor, cheap mixed with expensive, style mixed with oops. Nothing offensive mind you just not (by any means) stunning.
Any way that's a side point, we are here food the food and that's where we shall now go.
I started with mackerel, crisply cooked, flavours that melted in my mouth! Fantastic!! My friend had the pork pie and chutney, the pie was a lot lighter than expected, still tasty. But the winner in this dish was the chutney! Oh it had some umph, not overpowering but full of flavours, I'm salivating at the thought!
Obviously, we were now looking forward to our mains! Alas, mine was a disappointment. Lamb and sweetbreads. The sweetbreads were subtle and delicate, quite lovely. However, the main fair, the lamb, was dry and cold. I have no idea how they managed to ruin this, I was thoroughly dismayed... My friends sole redeemed them slightly as this was nice, but no one like such food envy all the way through mains.
I would consider going here again, it seems good value and the lamb could have been a one off mistake...
On a side note, an average wine selection, and average service (1 waiter FANTASTIC [the super tall guy], the others borderline useless...)
Bua Thai Restaurant - Caterham

Recently I moved back to Caterham and was delighted to see that this Thia Mecca was still open.
In case you're wondering, it's still fantastic, my taste buds were absolutely satisfied. What makes it even better is the lovely staff who great you into their orientally decorated restaurant with beaming smile.
Why thank you Bua Thai.

I have been here a few times since moving to Brighton yet it always seems to exceed expectations.
Definitely on the pricey side but well worth it! Good portions of exquisite food & knowledgeable staff.
I will be going back and I do recommend it to my friends.

I’m not sure why the reviews are so good.
Middle of the road pub, middle of the road food, top of the road prices.
We had a roast, and wanted an ale but none on tap!! Instead I paid £33 for two roasts and two lemonades
The service was excellent, attentive and friendly. Some of the food was very nice, the gravy, veg, and mutton were all excellent. However, the portions were small, the beef was too rare (I like my beef rare) and tasteless the Yorkshire were soggy and disappointing.
It pretends to be a pub, but I have a better selection of drinks at home!!
Don’t believe the hype!!

The selection was fairly good but this is not why I’m scoring 5 stars. It’s because of the staff! Very friendly knowledgeable and helpful.
We received a lot of advice without any pressure to buy. Also they offer a 60 day money back offer on any samples—very useful!

Poor selection. Very expensive. Poor customer service.
We could not find the tiles that we spotted on the internet, the staff were very unfriendly and ignored us.

Indian Summer - Brighton

The food was lovely, well cooked and interesting. However, it does not give you much choice as they offer a set menu or nothing…
It is very expensive and not intirely worth it. Also, I didn’t like paying the same for lamb or lentils…
I probably wouldn’t go back but I wouldn’t tell my freinds to avoid either

(updated on 05-01-2012)
I am updating my review which I wrote upon my first visit. I have been back on two further occasions, and the quality has deteriorated significantly. On my last visit, we had poor service, despite few other patrons, and poor food, some of which was overcooked.
I would not recommend Oki-Nami.
