Cafe Piazza - Bath

The Podium, Bath BA1 5AL

22-05-2009

Been coming here every so often since the podium was first built.

Good sized, yummy pizzas served in a nice relaxing environment.

There’s a fish pond type thing that children should like, or at least there was - health and safety seems to have gone overboard recently!

Nice desserts and decent service.

Bodrum Takeaway - Bath

34 Broad Street, Bath BA1 5LP

Avoid if at all possible!
Marmaris is just 5 minutes away and easily worth the slight extra money!

Greasy and cold are the words that spring to mind.

Tempting though if you’ve just stumbled out of the Pig & Fiddle or wandered down from Moles.

The staff are friendly on the plus side.

Pig & Fiddle - Bath

A nice pub if you can get a seat in their beer 'garden’ (it’s right by a fairly big road junction).

Not much to be said other than its popular with students and locals. Does all the usual drinks.

The Packhorse - Bath

Bath BA2 7DL

Possibly the best country pub in the area, if not the country!

Try the Cheddar Valley cider in all its fluorescent orangey glory! Lethal stuff though…

The garden is lovely in the summer and the pub serves as a starting/finishing point to a relaxing walk around the surrounding hills, valleys and woods.

Yellow Shop - Bath

72 Walcot Street, Bath BA1 5BD

A really interesting, friendly, alternative clothing and accessories shop on Walcot Street, just past Dominoes Pizza!

Lots of one-offs and random bits and pieces. Mens and womens, plus accessories such as bags, belts and badges.

Appy Daze - Bath

4 London Street, Bath BA1 5BU

22-05-2009

A good old fashioned head shop - all sorts of - ahem - smoking accessories and the like.

Ran by friendly staff with the skinniest, laziest dog in Bath.

Worth a look at for sure. The only shop of its type in Bath.

Southern Fried Chicken - Bath

41 Monmouth Street, Bath BA1 2AN

22-05-2009

This place is as cheap as chips.. or at least the chips are…

Everything’s pretty damn good value actually. Nice kebabs, better chicken than KFC.

They use nice bread for the donners, not those horrible cheap pittas like a lot of places.

Service tends to be a tad unfriendly though.

Al Falafel - Bath

To be honest, the best thing about this place at least used to be the staff. Back a few years ago anyway - haven’t been for a while.

Alright kebabs, burgers and chips. Chili sauce is lethal! I advise to go over the road to SFC for a budget doner!

Schwartz Bros - Bath

4 Sawclose, Bath BA1 1EY

Yum! Lovely, fresh, big burgers!
Try the roadhouse chilli burger - spicy though.

All of them are nice though. Plus the chips and everything are all well cooked and the service is usually really friendly.

Marmaris Restaurant - Bath

4-5 Newmarket Row, Grand Parade, Bath BA2 4AN

My local kebab shop/restaurant.
A bit more expensive but its worth it in my opinion!

Their sit down meals are good too. Special offer at lunch on weekdays is good value - 3 courses.

The chilli sauce is not that awful stuff you usually get in most kebab places either!
