The Melkweg is a superb club, art house, concert hall bang in the middle of Amsterdam, near the Leidseplein. I've come her for years now and have seen performances ranging from good friends in their fledgling band to the debuts of nirvana, smashing pumpkins, zita swoon and others. Recently there are very good crossover jazz nights at the melkweg.
