The Equine Shop - Porthyrhyd
Cwrt-y-draenog, Porthyrhyd , Carmarthen, Wales SA32 8PG
21-05-2009
I didn’t think of reviewing this place! It is owned by friends of ours but I am certianly not biased. It’s an Aladdin’s Cave for horsey people. They have everything you can think of and also things you had never thought of. Unlike many horse shops, they also have a lovely section of thing for younger riders - birthday party accessories, toys, stationary and socks! You can find a few things here for dogs and cats as well as horses.
Cwmcerrig Farm Shop and Grill - Carmarthen
Gorslas, Carmarthen, Wales SA14 7HU

We feel incredible lucky to live so close to such a fantastic place.
Recently opened after selling veg from a barn, the Cwmcerrig Farm Shop and Grill is Wales’ only Farm Shop of its kind.
The fruit and vegetables are always beautiful and fresh, the meats are produced there on site and are delicious and nicely priced. The speciality sausages are lovely and there is stacks of other produce too, all local. Things like bread, cheese, eggs, icecream, cakes, preserves and much more.
Not only is it a farm shop but also the best carvery in the area. The carvery is also a cafe and they do breakfasts and light lunches as well as hot food on non-carvery days.
Get there early though (half eleven) if planning a carvery as the queues are huge!
The NEC Arena - Birmingham International Airport

I’ve been here a numnber of times, mainly to show my dogs at Crufts. It is a huge place and it is very easy to get lost here, particularly in the car parks. It is always well signposted though so not too much trouble to find your way back to the car! I will say that sometimes the parking can be very expensive depending on the event. We went to The Baby Show last weekend and along with our entrance fees, had to pay £8 for parking which I think is extortionate.
Trainer BMW Dealer - Swansea
Pontaddulais Road, Swansea, Wales SA5 4BA
21-05-2009
We visited this dealership when we were looking at cars a few months ago. We had shortlisted a number of cars and had whittled it down to an Audi Q7 and a BMW X5. We already own one BMW so the X5 was appealing to us. When we arrived there, the salesman was absolutely fantastic. He showed us the X5 and the X3, we testdrove the X3 and in the end, decided to go for a used X3. He was also brilliant with our baby son and even gave him a toy car on the day we picked our car up. It really made a change to speak to a professional salesman.
China Wok - Carmarthen
Llandybie, Carmarthen, Wales SA14 7UF

Although this is a Chinese takeaway, it is also an Indian. We have had both from here but I cannot fault the chinese food. We eat from here on a regular basis - they probably make half their annual profit from us alone! I can’t help it though - I am absolutely addicted to their crispy beef. It is fantastic!
Tafarn Y Deri - Carmarthen
Fforest, Carmarthen, Wales SA4 0TS

We went to this pub/restaurant as we heard an ad on the radio for a perfect country retreat. When we got there, we were immediately disappointed. Apparently the place had been refurbished- where I do not know. We were seated in the conservatory where the decor was dated and tacky, right down to the plastic on top of the tables.
The menu was too varied. You know the food isn’t going to be good when there are over 50 main courses on the menu. It was like something out of “Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares”! You could just imagine what he would be saying if he were there!
Hing Wah - Tewkesbury
12 Barton Street, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire GL20 5PP
21-05-2009
This is the best Chinese in Tewkesbury, as someone has already said. The food is amazing, the prices are slightly above average but it is well worth paying the extra. It also comes in those cute takeaway boxes that you see in American sitcoms and they include chopsticks and fortune cookies! Fabulous!
Cascades - Tewkesbury
Oldbury Road, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire GL20 5LR

An OK swimming pool just for a quick dip. My son went swimming here for the very first time when he was about 6 weeks old and he seemed to enjoy it! The staff were nice enough but it is a bit rundown and it was a nightmare to park too.
Nirala Tandoori Restaurant - Tewkesbury
69-70 Church Street, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire GL20 5RX
21-05-2009
My parents warned me not to order a takeaway from here and I wish I had listened. When our food arrived it was stone cold. There were about three chips in a bag, the poppadoms were stale, the samosas were chewy and the bhajees inedible. The curry itself had two pieces of chicken in it and the tub was only half full of sauce. A huge difference in portion size, quality and price to our wonderful Indian takeaways here in Wales.
Funsters Soft Play - Llanelli
Hendy Industrial Park, Hendy, Llanelli, Wales SA4 0UT
21-05-2009
Funsters is an excellent soft play warehouse. I take my son there and he has been going there since he was about 6 months old. They have an Under Three section which is far superior to any other soft-play place we have been to. There is so much for little ones to do - cars, swings, a ball pool, a slide, actual soft play and that is only the baby part. Lovely cafe, friendly staff, a great afternoon out.
