Victor Hugo - Edinburgh

26 Melville Terrace, The Meadows, Edinburgh, Scotland EH9 1LP

14-07-2012

I used to like this place but its really gone downhill, the cupcakes and scones are never fresh , always a bit hard ...I always give benefit of the doubt but bought in morning as well and still hard! staff are unfriendly and seems to be a rapid turnover. Bring back the Victor Hugo ! He was jolly and friendly just what you want from a local deli! not unfriendly staff and cakes you can bounce of the wall. Its really disappointing.

VictorHugo Cupcakes are in fresh every day and if you can tell me when you bought scones at Victor Hugos I would be most interested ! Please call in and let yourself be known to the new owner .

RiodeJan The owner is not new ! He bought Victor Hugo’s in November 2009, even though it was reported in his article in The Scotsman in April that it was 2008 ! So he has had almost 33 months to get a handle of the place and has clearly failed too ! It aint going to happen now. And who has been to the Portobello shop ? ! Desperate ! And neither are as clean , structured and orgainsed as it was with the last owner. The turn over of staff is a joke, even in this industry. Time for either the owner or customers to move on.

summerhall yoga - Edinburgh

1 Summerhall, Newington, Edinburgh, Scotland EH9 1PL

I would say the best yoga classes in Edinburgh! I suffered from a lower sore back for a few months and instead of taking painkillers I decided to do yoga and I after about 3 classes I have never had any pain since!! My flexiblity is great, I feel more energised and really enjoy the classes. Ive been to yoga in the past but never went back as I always found them boring. But at Summerhall, Sam is really good at keeping it interesting! You never do the same routine twice so it keeps you challenged , motivated and interested. AND it is only £5 per class and you dont have to book a course which most yoga school's do so its all good! Highly recommend. From beginngers to more experienced . If your thinking about it just do it!
