Situated on the Solway Firth, Southerness Holiday Park is a caravan and camping site with on site amenities and entertainment.
Located close the Sweetheart Abbey and just done the road from John Paul Jones’ birth place, the site offers good value for money for families on a budget. From static caravan to mobile homes to tents this site accepts all.
The entertainment on offer is basic and caters mainly for the kids although there is the odd bingo night or live band. There is also a indoor swimming pool which is only open at certain times.
The surrounding scenery is breathtaking and the beaches clean, when the tide goes out its a bit of a long walk to the waters edge. The closeness of the ocean also offers ample opportunities for shore and rock fishing or poking about in rock pools.
The only downside of the whole experience are the arcade amusements …. cost me a fortune!!
I’ve been going there for more years than i care to think and it has gone a bit commercial since being taken over by Parkdean .. i still remember the good ol’ days of Magic Malky!!!
