Lovely salon, friendly service, great cuts and colours at good prices. I have going to Clare for over 7 years and I am always very happy. Also in a very handy location – right next to Stockport Plaza Box Office, with good parking in front of Hatworks Museum, and just yards from the bus and train stations. Highly recommended!
*As of late last year, The Strand has now started a loyalty card scheme offering £10 off everytime you get a full card of 5 stamps – 1 stamp given per visit – v.nice!

My Mum was taken for a girly get together meal here last week and was very disappointed. Of the five meals ordered only one was even vaguely warm and every meal whether gammon or fish was really burnt and placed best side up as though it would go un-noticed, and the staff were completely disinterested when it was pointed out to them. Also the chips had been re-heated so many times that they were quite inedible.
I thought this place had been taken over and were re-branding themselves but sadly if anything they seem to have gone from bad to worse. It takes a lot to make my Mum complain especially in front of her friends on a special night out and so because of the very poor meals, the staff’s lack of interest and refusal to recompense I think they fully deserve to be publicly reviewed like this.

Poor Mum got taken by friends(?!) again, Feb 2012 – sadly, no improvement.
She will not be going again!
