Dalston Superstore - Dalston

117 Kingsland High Street, Dalston, London E8 2PB

29-05-2009

Beautiful place with a fun mixed, sexy crowd. Dancefloor downstairs is big and they play some awesome tunes. This area is soon to be the new Shoreditch--watch out for next year or so, there’ll be plenty of likes of these opening up!

Fun Fun

Ps: they close pretty early since they still haven’t got their 24 hour license, but you can head down to Jazz Bar right around the corner which stays open til 6-7am and serve everything!

The Joiners Arms - Shoreditch

116-118 Hackney Road, Shoreditch, London E2 7QL

Not the one of the nicest smelling places with a unisex toilets(in most gay bars), but gets very sweaty, packed and sexy on weekends. On Saturdays open til about 3-4am and after you can head right across the street to the Ol’ Axe- usually a rock-a-billy night and open til 6am at which almost everyone from Joiners ends up in.

You will see anything from bum(homeless, not booty bum)-inspired to Balenciaga. Straightest straight to the crazy dress-up dolls that manage to seduce the straightest man in Hackney!

London Fields - Hackney

137 Mare Street, London E8 3RH

My first experience here was late March, one of the first sunny days of this spring. Sat there eating my pizza then all of a sudden found myself surrounded by hungry dogs trying to snatch my pizza. Then came along a drunk man accusing me of being a yank, he set off to chase me across the field for about 15 minutes, until he was distracted by another “yank”? Later, in the beginning of this month recognised him again, this time at Hoxton square- didn’t chase me--but spoke of killing people with his mind.

Took me nearly two months until i went back to the fields- and the second time, and third and fourth, and many more to come---the experience was beautiful, happy, drunk, funny, sunny, and everything else associated with the word “fun”

Japanese Canteen - Shoreditch

37a Hoxton Square, Hackney, London N1 6NN

I love their Salmon-chili-fried-rice. Best for take-away and a quick bite. They serve japanese beer as well. Wouldn’t recommend their udon and other noodle soups- the broth isn’t all that great.

Bento Cafe - Camden

Service is Great and the food is delicious! Their kim-chi soup is amazing and the sushi rolls are tasty!!

Not a big selection on sake though…

Cay Tre - Shoreditch

Service is good, food is amazing! A bit too small though for weekends. Old street is quite busy so you end up waiting in a long queue.

Tay Do - Shoreditch

This place has the best food on Kingland Road. Usually very fast, fresh and delicious. Living only minutes away from there I’m quiet a regular.

Only thing is the service: They ask you to order appetiser, main dish and dessert all at once and hate taking additional orders. BUT the more you come in, the more they recognize you the better they treat you!

Best value for money as well!
