Yumi Chinese Take Away - Dublin

38 Gledswood Drive, Clonskeagh, Dublin

05-08-2009

Yumi’s was a favourite take away of mine while I was studying in UCD. Pretty good value and the menu for two is delicious.

Da Pino Restaurant - Dublin

38 Parliament Street, Dublin

05-08-2009

Da Pino’s do some excellent value menus which makes it an ideal lunch time choice in an expensive city. Fair enough, it’s probably not the best quality food ever, but it’s good value and really tasty. Highly recommended.

Bad Ass Grill - Dublin

Crown Alley, Temple Bar, Dublin

05-08-2009

The Bad Ass cafe has become a Dublin institution even amoung the pathetic surroundings of Temple Bar, the most ill conceived faux 'cultural quarter’ in the world.Ahem. The lunch menu here is excellent value for money and the burgers and pizzas are delicious. Music buffs might be interested to know that Sinead O Connor waited tables here before becoming a full blown superstar mad yoke.So now, there you are!

Bobo's - Dublin

22 Wexford Street, 2 Dublin

05-08-2009

Ok I will not hear a word against Bobos! Especially as they stock sweet, sweet TK red lemonade which is an intrinsic part of Irish nostalgia along with ten penny mixes and pogs.(Remember them?) Try the apple burger, the other half got it and I was extremely envious. The only thing that did slightly annoy me was having to pay extra for chips but other than that - top marks for this unusual venture!

Eddie Rockets - Dublin

Parnell Street, 1 Dublin

05-08-2009

There’s ain’t nothing I like more than coming in here, having a strawberry malt and listening to rock and roll on the jukebox! A great place for families and groups of friends. Good fun!

Westbury Hotel - Dublin

Grafton Street, Dublin

04-08-2009

The bar here is straight out of New York’s Upper East side, fabulous lighting and beautiful people abound. Try the delicious 'Westbury Mojito’. A word to the wise, the sandwiches in the lobby are expensive and painfully disappointing. Sve your money!

Salon Zeba - Dublin

60 South Williams Street, Dublin 2 Dublin

04-08-2009

Mmmm, worth a visit just for the divine massage chairs! Don’t you just hate straining your neck while having your hair washed? Not a problem here! The chair reclines and pummels, kneads and soothes your back, neck and legs!

Stylists are generally very good and although it’s pricey they frequently have excellent mid week offers.

Cowboys & Angels - Dublin

4 South William Street, Dublin

04-08-2009

It’s expensive but the stylists are lovely(and talented), the surroundings are hip and the results are fabulous! Makes a change from chain hairdressers as it has a real boutique feel to it.

Especially recommended for those who find visiting the hairdressers an unsettling experience!

Molly Malone - Dublin

2 Grafton Street, Dublin 2 Dublin

01-08-2009

Loved by tourists, merely tolerated by Dubliners. Makes a convenient meeting place.

Ukiyo Bar - Dublin

7 Exchequer Street, 2 Dublin

01-08-2009

The food is cheap but not the best quality. However, it’s as an alternative nightspot that Ukiyo really comes into it’s own! Make sure your reserve a karaoke booth in advance and round up a rowdy group of friends for a bizarre evening of screeching power ballads and sake!
