Atlas Cafe Bar - Manchester

376 Deansgate, Manchester, Greater Manchester M3 4LY

24-01-2009

Atlas Bar is right net to deansgate station in the Manchester city centre. We usually go in there for lunch although the food is really nice especially the sandwiches, it can get a little expensive for a lunch time snack, not only are the sandwiches quite expensive but they also add on a service charge which seems a bit excessive!! The pizzas are a bit better value for money as they usually have a deal on them. This place is great through out the summer as the sun terrace towards the back is a real sun trap! They usually have music on in the evening but not really been in then.

Romanos Italia Restaurant - Oldham

Horsedge Mill Rock Street, Horsedge Mill, Oldham, Greater Manchester OL1 3EX

24-01-2009

Romanos is a really nice Italian restaurant in the centre of Oldham. The only down side is that it’s on the first floor and unfortunately I don’t think it has disabled access which is a real shame. The interior is decorated in the style of a renaissance Italian villa and the atmosphere is quite charming. The food is really nice and tasty, with a large selection of pasta, pizza and meat and fish dishes. The steaks are one of my favourites along side the pasta salmone!! The food is good value for money and the service is excellent with most of the waiters speaking in Italian.

Casa Las Tapas - Oldham

20 Retiro Street, Oldham, Greater Manchester OL1 1SA

24-01-2009

Casa Las Tapas is a small, long established Spanish restaurant in Oldham town centre. I have been here many times and find the food to be really great. The atmosphere is really relaxed and friendly and the staff always to fit you in if you haven’t made a reservation. The food is much better than some of the chain tapas places and taste home made. The menu also has a selection of meat and fish meals if you don’t fancy tapas, or you could share the lovely paella. Once you’ve tried Casa las Tapas you’ll just keep going back there!!!

Siam Orchid - Royton

22 Middleton Road, Oldham, Greater Manchester OL2 5PA

24-01-2009

Siam Orchid is a Thai restaurant in Royton, on the outskirts of Oldham and is the sister restaurant to Siam Orchid in Manchester. I have been here many times as it is one of the most authentic Thai restaurants I’ve been to in the UK. The restaurant has two floors and can seat larger parties, service is very good and food is reasonably priced. The menu also has a selection of Chinese style dishes which caters of all really. Our particular favourites are the mixed starter which is really good value and the green and massaman curries!! The restaurant also does a buffets style lunch on a Sunday and a take away service.

Kings Arms - Oldham

4 Delph Road, Oldham, Greater Manchester OL4 2JX

17-01-2009

The Kings arm at grains barn, Saddleworth not far from Oldham town centre and the M62 motorway. This long established country pub with a real fire to fight of the cold in the winter months specialises in traditional dishes for all the family, with a daily specials board you can always guarantee good quality, tasty food. This is a pub me and my friends and family just keep coming back to, it’s local and charm are hard to resist. A couple of my favourite dishes are the cheese and onion pie and the fish and chips, both really good value for money!

Printers Arms - Denshaw

20 Oldham Road, Oldham, Greater Manchester OL3 5SN

17-01-2009

The Printers arm in Denshaw, Saddleworth not far from Oldham town centre and the M62 motorway is a great family pub. A group of us last went on Christmas Eve, to our surprise they has had a refurb. We didn’t sit in the main dining room which did have a lovely traditional feel to it so can’t really comment on that are however we sat in the small room facing the bar. I thought the re decoration was a little to modern for the traditional country pub. The food was great, however the menu has changed and some of the old classics have been removed. Very child friendly pub, will definatly be returning.

sirius1 Last time I went to the Printers I found the staff to be helpful and friendly. However, I found the meal to be very expensive and when I returned home I was sick all night long! I can't blame alcohol because I was pregnant at the time so I wasn't drinking. Needless to say I haven't been back since...

pluke85 Morning sickness??? To say it was the food is complete and utter bile, its me and my gf's favourite pub, the staff are ultra friendly and good and the food is consistently great. As I write this I have booked my table. Can people please write an objective view of a restaurant pub without actually dumbing down the review for the rest of us. Its the same price as everywhere else. If you want weatherspoons go to weatherspoons or instead stop being a tight so and so. Bet you dont even tip 10%!!!!

17-01-2009

Balti taste take away is located in the centre of Lees village, on the outskirts of Oldham. It has a large varying menu specialising in authentic curries and kebabs. It is renowned for its enormous mixed kebab on 2ft nan bread and weighing more than a small child!! Defiantly not one for the faint hearted and even too much for 2 to share. Ideal for a talking point at small parties. The curries are great too, really tasting and you can even opt for the healthy option curry if you trying to be good!! The delivery is really fast too!!

Westwood East - Oldham

Eleanor Street, Westwood House, Oldham, Greater Manchester OL1 2NN

17-01-2009

The Westwood east is a Bangladeshi take away part of the Westwood east restaurant located centrally in Oldham not far from the town centre. The food has the same high quality, authenticity and good value for money as the restaurant with the convenience of a take away and delivery service. Both extremely fast services usually waiting not longer that 30-45 mins for delivery which always arrives nice and hot. I had the chicken korma whilst my partner had the chicken tikka massala both tasted fantastic, nan bread was excellent too and the sheek kebabs are one of the best we’ve tasted!

It caters for all size parties specializing in the larger groups and has a function room upstairs for parties. The restaurant does not serve alcohol however is renowned for its ‘bring your own’ policy making it one of the most popular eating establishments in the local area. This aside the food is amazing very authentic, tasty, extremely fast service and reasonably priced. For a fantastic night out with friends and family go to the Westwood east, family favourites are the Chilli chicken tikka massala if you like it hot!!
