This place is dire – went with 3 others on a groupon deal – what a scam!! They apparently had NO steaks at all ( funny that as some friends had been last week on a groupon deal and they were ALSO told there were no steaks) No point looking to see if anyone else was ordering steak as everyone in the place was on the groupon deal – it would have been absolutely empty without it. The food that we had was not good ( although the 2 that had pizza for main said it was nice) prawn cocktail with the smallest bits of prawny-looking things you’ve ever seen (probably bought in from Iceland’s value range)and hardly any sauce, garlic mushrooms that weren’t very garlicy and were just plonked on top of lettuce and tomato. I was really looking forward to a steak ( I had already been told by someone else who went on a groupon that they’d said they had no steaks but thought it might just have been a blip, but lo and behold, no steaks in the entire place – funny that) so I ordered chargrilled chicken with chips and salad, chicken extremely dry and hard to cut, only ate half – cheap frozen french fries and ok salad. Highlight of the meal for me was coconut icecream for dessert which was yummy, but then, they just buy that! We will NEVER go there again
pauljprc You right, everyone has their own opinion but one last question, how many times have you been in Topo Gigios for a meal?

traceylyn62 In answer to your question – When Topo Gigio was in Cumbergate we used to go once or twice a month and we loved it. However, since it has been in it’s current location I have only been once and I didn’t enjoy the food OR the service which is why I hadn’t been back again. When the Groupon voucher came up I thought I would try it again to give it a chance without having to pay full price and, had it been good, I would have been happy to go again and pay the going rate! The fact that I couldn’t have a steak (which was what I really fancied at the time) was annoying because when I had phoned to book I was told we could have ANYTHING from the menu and we weren’t taking the piss and all trying to have the most expensive thing, it was only me who wanted steak, the others in my group were all having pizza/pasta. The food that we DID have wasn’t up to scratch, as I said in my review, this is why they won’t be getting our custom again.

Rob from A1 oven cleaners - very pleasant chap but i'm afraid that's where the good bit ends.
My oven was not left sparkling as i expected it to be, Rob couldn't figure out how to remove the door glass (although my husband who is NOT a professional oven cleaner has done it previously with no trouble) so that was left with smears and runs in between the panes. The general state of the oven was ok although i had to go over it all after he'd gone to remove cleaner residue and the cloth that i was using ended up brown so how clean was that?!
Also, he didn't put anything down to protect the floor which ended up dirty and smeared, even after he had wiped it twice, and i also had to wipe splashes from my paintwork.
He was also here for a good 2 hours which meant i couldn't get anything else done in the kitchen, this i wouldn't have minded had it been worth it, however, i think that giving me £5 off when it just created more work for me was a bit of an insult.
Needless to say, i will NOT be recommending A1 to anyone.
