No problem with the staff, who seated us very quickly. First impression was it was very dark inside. I really struggled to read the menu and had to keep moving about to find some light. Whilst doing so, another customer asked to be re-seated as it was too dark.

Starters were excellent, nice and hot and served quickly. The main course for me, what a let down! Steak and Kidney pie with Mash and peas. The meal could have been served with some gravy for the mash. However, not a major issue but it left the mash a little on the dry side.

The pie looked nice, until you tried to cut into it. The pastry was well overcooked, so just crumbled into bits, but looking inside the pie..... someone must have nicked the meat! I have never see a pie with so much gravy inside, hardly any steak or kidney, but loads of carrots!!!

The pie must have been warmed up by British Nuclear Fuels, far too hot, but when it cooled down....the flavor must have been boiled out of it!

A shame really, the starters were lovely.

This is a popular Fish & Chip Shop. Service is always very good, but to be honest, getting a touch expensive.

My one complaint would be that they could do with putting some fish in the batter! Fish do not have fingers, so why serve a fish finger size portion disguised in batter? A fish finger and a few chips should not 
cost just short of £4.00 

It used to be good value, but at the moment, its not, so we now use other fish & chip shops.

We have eaten here many times in the past, but this has to be the first time virtually everyone kept their coats on. it was freezing.
the food was very nice, but the starters were not so warm, probably due to the fact that the place was so cold.
food is fairly good if not a bit pricey, but surely a big chain like this can stretch to putting the heating on once in a while.

Dont really visit this place much to be honest, but never had any complaints when I do. Food is always good, and the service is good too.

Have to admit, they do a very good Southern Fried Chicken, much nicer than KFC.

service is very good, and a friendly atmosphere, but the carvery is expensive for the amount of food you are served with. if you add a dessert, its very expensive for a family night out.

the eating area is also very warm, which becomes a little unpleasant after a while.

Popped into this pub last weekend after driving past for a few years on and off. A very steady stream of customers coming and going, and a very friendly atmosphere inside.

We were offered two options for food, a bar menu, or a full menu. Both had plenty of choice, but I have to say the starter of Black Pudding with sliced apple was amazing, and the fish and chips on the full menu, probably rates as the one of the best we have ever had.

Make sure you go there on an empty tum!

Would highly recommend this place to anyone, excellent food and beer, both at very good prices too.

food is pretty good, but the service can be slow, and the staff need to learn how to smile.

never had any bad meat from here, but their sandwiches are not that good, and we were not impressed with their pies. for meat, you would struggle to get better.

do probably the best low fat sausages i have ever had.

excellent service and the quality of the flowers is always high.
