We popped in for a nightcap (at the late hour of 9pm!) on our first night in London. Jet lag was definitely kicking in (I think I fell asleep a couple of times) but I remember a cold pint and warm service from our waitress.
Four stars for not kicking a sleeping American out of the pub.

I first heard about Tom’s Kitchen in Conde Naste Traveler when they named it one of the best new restaurants in London. We checked with our ex-Pat friend and she agreed that it was a great spot so we decided to give it a shot our first night in town.
Let me just say that Tom’s Kitchen set the bar high for the rest of our dinners in London. Everything was fantastic but the clear winner was my fish and chips. I didn’t bother getting fish and chips anywhere else during our stay because I just knew that I’d only be disappointed after the fantastic version I had at Tom’s Kitchen.
With such a friendly, efficient staff, lively dining scene and fantastic food, I can’t recommend Tom’s Kitchen enough.

Looking for a hearty breakfast before a day of playing tourist? Head on down to the Chelsea Bun!
We knew we picked a great spot by the constant stream of locals sitting down around us. I went with the English Breakfast (as we were in England, duh) and though the bacon wasn’t cooked as much as I like, it was still pretty tasty.
Not the best meal ever but a solid option if you’re looking to fill up on the cheap.

We stopped by Album to have a beer while waiting for Tom’s Kitchen to open. The bar featured a stylish interior and board games to pass the time! There was a pretty good post work crowd gathered and while we didn’t try the food, four stars for a much needed cold pint.
