London Zoo - Marylebone

Regents Park, Regent's Park, London NW1 4RY

21-11-2008

The london zoo is a great place to visit. We took our daughter to see all the African wildlife, farm animals and the aquatic life. We didn’t manage to see the whole place because it’s so huge. The disinterested gorillas were quite popular with the visitors.

It is a bit pricey but it’s one for the books, something to tell others about - a safari in London. There are cafe’s and snack bars for refreshments.

And on a very good day you may be able to get a £5 caricature of yourself or your loved ones.

I think there’s a discount if you buy your tickets online and it also saves you time when you finally get there.

Castello - Bermondsey

192-196 Jamaica Road, Rotherhithe, London SE16 4RT

This is a great little Italian restraurant on Jamaica Road in the borough of Southwark in London. My husband has taken me there for valentines, birthday celebrations and many other any-excuse-to-celebrate events.

The atmostphere is very warnm and friendly and it’s rare to not find Mr Castello in to welcome you in the evenings. The food is gorgeous and my husband always orders the banoffee pie for dessert - he says when you know what’s good there’s no point is still searching and trying out other things.

I’m more advanturous and try to go for something new everytime and I’m yet to be disappointed.

If you have little ones they’ll bring out high chairs for you and try to make you comfortable. The problem will come when it’s time to change nappies, that’s where they let down.

But for good food and a great night out, give them a try.

The Lion King Musical - Covent Garden

21 Wellington Street, Lyceum Theatre, Covent Garden, London WC2E 7RQ

My husband took me to see The Lion King Musical in London and I admit I was not looking forward to it at all - afterall, I had already seen the cartoon, so what surprises could there be.

But I was pleasantly surprised. Even if you’ve seen the animation, do make it a point to see the live show. It’s great family entertainment. The set and props are just spectacular!

We may not have sat close to the stage but I have wonderful memories of that experience. You can give this experience as a birthday present for your kids and you’ll enjoy it just as much as they will.

I’ll make it a point to go and see it again…soon.

MoneySavingExpert.com - West Kensington

This is a very good website. Strict no-spam policy, so you know there won’t be sneaky people trying to scam you or sell you something. The advice is quite now, written for today and summarises what good deals are out there at the moment.

And the forums hold a great wealth of financial information on any subject you can think of, and the members are always happy to share.

They give you honest advice to make everyones money go further, whatever the issue might be. From Savings to mortgages, to saving on transport fares, to the best priced juice out there.

And once in a while there are other money saving incentives that are available to members like free MoneyWise magazines etc.

I subscibe to the newsletter and when there’s something I think or know my friends would be interested in I just fwd it along. I’ve received free samples of some really wonderful merchandise as well.
