This place has generally got free tables… Not sure that’s always a good thing but can be useful if other places are full on a Fri/Sat night! The currys are pretty reasonable although, in my opinion, hotter than you might usually find - but I’m not great with very hot food although I do like a curry! I prefer We The Restaurant for curry personally.

The food is always good here - better than the other pubs around town. Although it’s often busy (so try and arrive early) the service is still good. Best to sit outside on the decking over the lake on a hot day. It’s just been taken over by new management, so watch this space!

The food here is always great, with a choice from a wide range of Indian and Thai dishes. I have personally never had a bad dish there. The atmosphere is also good, with a few unusual elements to the design, such as a water feature in the bar area and a channel full of fish that you step over to get into the restaurant area. The main room is a bit large though on a quieter evening there.

We have always had good meals when we’ve gone here in small groups, and I can’t criticise the food at all, but they do seem to struggle with service and the time to prepare the food with larger groups.

I would rate this 5 stars for meals during the week if you’re going with 2-4 people, but at weekends the staff always seem very hectic and it can take a very long time to get food through.

Newly opened restaurant with a shiny interior is as you’d expect from a Pizza Express. It always seems to be packed at the moment, but not sure if it’s because of the novely factor! You definitely should book in advance if you want to be sure of getting a table at a particular time at the weekend.

We had a good meal there, but there were loads of children and it was a Friday night, so I would recommend it more for a family meal than for couples.

The wine seemed more expensive than other Italian restaurants in Fleet.

El Castello offers great food at a range of prices - from pizzas and pastas up to Italian style meat and accompaniments. There’s a good selection of wines and a great selection of desserts.

The staff are very friendly and experienced and the atmosphere is always good. It’s also good for group parties. I would personally rate it as the best Italian restaurant in the area. If you like Italian food and haven’t tried it yet, you should.

If you’ve been to an Ask before, you’ll know exactly what to expect. The food is always pretty good, but I don’t rate it as highly as El Castello, which is another Italian just up the road. The service at Ask is usually fine, but nothing outstanding. Good atmosphere though, helped by the usual Ask modern decor and the fact the place is usually pretty full and buzzing.

If you like Thai food you’ll love menu Thai. The food there is always great and the staff always friendly. They recognise you if you’re a regular, which makes it a more welcoming experience. As with most places, it can get hectic on a Friday and Saturday night, so the service is slightly better during the week, when you usually don’t need to pre-book.

The food is always really fresh tasting, well cooked and comes at a reasonable price, so I would certainly recommend it to anyone! One quick tip - they add service charge into the bill, so you don’t need to add it on top.
