Margiotta - Edinburgh
77 Warrender Park Road, Edinburgh, Scotland EH9 1ES
27-11-2008
Superbly stocked with a wide range of foods, very clean - helpfulness of staff varies greatly. Have tended to pop in for bits and pieces on occasion although it would appear that the classical music they play seems to give them license to jack up the prices!
They do stock a good range of fresh produce including freshly made pizza, sandwiches and other deli foods.
Ideal of a small convenience store!
The Earl Of Marchmont - Edinburgh
22 Marchmont Crescent, Edinburgh, Scotland EH9 1HG
27-11-2008
The Earl of Marchmont recently re-opened after a complete refit by the new owners. It is still a bejous establishment but is comfortable, stylish and stocks a wide range of beers and wine. Great bar snacks!
Quite happy to visit for just a coffee and a snack or for a bottle of wine in the evening!
A vast and much improved Earl of Marchmont to the last one - it’s simply unrecognisable!
Bohemia Design - Edinburgh
17 Roseneath Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH9 1JH

We love this shop and visit regularly as we live nearby. 'Charlie and Lola’ is put on the telly for my daughter, leaving me to have a look around…... Lots of things, bags, trinkets, cosmetics, toiletries, charlie and lola, a great range of quirky children’s clothes to name but a few of the things they sell. My only complaint is that the quality of some of the grown up clothes isn’t reflective of the price but that said there are a lot of really nice clothes! A great place to get nice gifts…..
Not made it up to the new shop as yet but assume it’s pretty much more of the same so in that case, it would be well worth a visit!
The Shore Porters Society - Aberdeen
1 Baltic Place, Aberdeen, Scotland AB11 5EW
24-11-2008
I have used Shore Porters twice in the past. Friendly office staff, arrived when they said they would, price as estimated and very curteous packers/removers…. Was a little concerned when one of them arrived with a 'sh*t happens’ badge on given he was about to pack up my entire life to put into storage but it all worked out in the end!
Would be more than happy to recommend!
Chicago Rock Cafe - Aberdeen
429 Union Street, Aberdeen, Scotland AB11 6DA
24-11-2008
Hummmmmmmm…..... sticky carpet, stains over the upholstery and a complete cattle mart!!!! Some of the rudest people in the city must go here for sure!
Would never visit again - I recall this place being popular when it first opened a couple of years back but I wouldn’t go back. It’s a shame because the setting is good, i.e. ex cinema/theatre but personally, I’d say it’s had it’s day…....
China Kingdom - Aberdeen
12 Guild Street, Aberdeen, Scotland AB11 6NE
24-11-2008
Yuk - grotty, grubby and food that isn’t very tasteful…... This place and opened and shut more times over the year than I care to remember.
Perhaps it gets its trade from the late night lot on the way home from all the nearby pubs who probably wouldn’t have a clue what they ordered let alone what it tasted like!
Camerons Inn - Aberdeen
6 Little Belmont Street, Aberdeen, Scotland AB10 1JG
24-11-2008
I’m still a 'Ma Cameron’s’ lass despite not living in Aberdeen anymore - but do visit when I’m back! I loved this place in by done days when it was 'Ma Cameron’s’. It still has a good range of ale on tap and good food and would recommend although for me, it’s kind of lost it’s quirk over the years.
Starbucks Coffee - Aberdeen
208 Union Street, Aberdeen, Scotland AB10 1TL
24-11-2008
This has to be my favourite starbucks in the city. Never so crammed as the one at St Nicholas Centre and therefore not the same sense of rush. Plenty room as well…..
Express By Holiday Inn - Aberdeen
Chapel Street, Aberdeen, Scotland AB10 1SQ
24-11-2008
Standard Holiday Inn fare really. Clean, warm and rooms superbly clean and tidy - have stayed here on several occasions when visiting Aberdeen.
No huge complaints other than the lack of parking. Parking can be found nearby but it’s pay and display….....
Aberdeen Maritime Museum - Aberdeen
Shiprow, Aberdeen, Scotland AB11 5BY
24-11-2008
Used to live in Aberdeen and have spent many an afternoon here. Each time there has been plenty of activity based stuff on for children.
Reasonably priced cafe and entrance to the museum is free!
