sorry think you must have called on a bad day, staff are always attentive and work really hard to make sure the customers welcome , music isnt played so the customers can dine and socialize in peace something that is hard to find these days, maybe you should visit a little earlier in the week to see how these girls really work to keep their customers happy

Called in at 3.00 on a sunny saturday afternoon, no atmosphere, floor being swept, poor range of cakes, took ages to bring tea to the table, it was left by the till for a good 10 minutes, cup had lipstick on it, the victoria sandwich was awful tased of additive assume was a packet mix
This gives a bad name to proper tea shops, expensive for what we got, this could easily be done well, dissapointed. Will not be revisiting.
Would recommend a visit from Alex Polizzi or Gordon Ramsay !!!
what a let down.No atmosphere or music as advertised.Visited 45 mins before closing and staff were sweeping the floor around us,felt very unwanted.Food was average. Mish mash of books ranging from the odd spitfire book to books about northampton. It seemed that anything over 10 years old was just put around the place.Sorry but won’t be visiting again

The finest cafe in Northamptonshire! Beautiful interior decoration, homemade food and friendly staff. A perfect antidote to Costa Coffee!

sorry to tell you this but all the sponges in the tea room are handmade , personally as a well seasoned customer to the tea rooms ive never had a cake thats been from a packet and know the management would never allow this either,if you were this unhappy with the service and the food then surely a remark to the manager who is there all day on a saturday would have rectified the problem, sadly you seem to have made up your own mind about the tea rooms but i can assure you their star rating is well deserved and earnt
