I've been here already few times, last visit was about one or two weeks ago.
Decoration is just amazing, its beyond everything I have imagine. Its kinda strange with all the hanging purses, yet it looks so stylish, gives a little authentic look to the restaurant. Could say that the best word to say about this place is eccentric.
Food is just excellent, always fresh, always served with style and the portions are big. There's a wide selection in the menu, you can choose from a lot of different things, but its a guarantee that all of them will be astonishing.
Staff are welcoming and polite and the prices are average.
In overall this place is a must!

Opulence meets fine dining! Crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling, rows of glorious handbags, while stuffed animals perch on the bar or crane from walls, adorned in costume jewellery. Its surreal but there is more to the appearances, though. French with a British twist. A very popular restaurant!

Lovely setting, excellent food and service more befitting Paris than boozy London. A challenge to book but easier if you’ve been before. Don’t be put off by the on line booking system. Better to ring up. Very nice wine list and good value for money (though not inexpensive). If you ask for a wine recommendation, the staff won’t automatically steer you to the top priced bottle. Creative dishes, well cooked and with not-bloating proportions. I had lamb fillets in jus with orange carrots. V nice and a lovely St Emilion . This restaurant won’t close the kitchen without notice and they certainly wouldn’t even think of bringing you the bill half way through the mains (this happened to me last week and triggered a one star review). No, it’s a lovely spot with attentive staff and delicious good. Expensive, but you won’t need to remortgage to pay the bill. All in all highly recommended.

Stunning surroundings and great atmosphere. Great food, but ever so slighty tooooo rich for me. Service was good, but they have that annoying 2 sittings thing (you have to leave by a certain time if you have an earlier siitting), and I like to take my time and have a nice brandy after dinner. Worth going nonetheless.

omg amazing, im not one to go on about how fantastic a place can be , but yes this was It.Vintage handbags, glorious jewels from every corner of the room and food to die for, i would THOROUGHLY recommend this place, even for just for one night out.I would just like to ask where can you feel youve experienced something so wonderful and quirky and a bit naughty that you think others should really know about in London Town?Let your eyes, ears, mouths, nose and hands do the talking, you will not be disappointed!PS. the tasting menu-£58 for 2.....NOW your're listening!Go book it now theres no excuse!

I had been here before a long time ago and I remembered I loved it and I wanted to go back, but it wasn’t until yesterday night that I finally made it, after coming across an offer that it was too good to let go, in spite of all my efforts to start a detox programme after Christmas. Oh well, I can always start it in February, can’t I? ;)
We had the seasonal tasting menu (£63/head for a 7-course tasting menu) and it was an unforgettable experience. I absolutely loved it. However, we were kind of forgotten in between a couple of the meals, when we spent around 15/20min waiting for our plate to be taken and the other one to be served. This happened twice. This is the only reason why I won’t be giving it 5 stars.
That spoiled the experience quite a bit, as it is already a long dinner because of the amount of courses, so adding over half an hour to it made it being 3h15min all in all, and I was just knackered by the end of it.
However, I won’t let that affect my review over the food, which was really exceptional. Oh! I just realised that the last reviewer explained the tasting menu perfectly, so job done :) I will just add that the foie gras and the duck were my favourite ones, absolutely outstanding. I find it reasonably priced for such a good quality tasting menu. It is definitely worth a try, and would make a great option to celebrate an anniversary or something special, and also for a romantic date.
The place itself is like out of Alice in Wonderland, where you expect the crazy rabbit to come out of the toilet anytime and start jumping around with the clock in his hand. Weird, but delightful. You will find vintage handbags hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the restaurant, stuffed jewelled animals on one corner, vintage necklaces on the wall opposite the excessively animated bar, but it all works very well together, and it adds to the oddness of the location of the restaurant, quite magical really.
Oh, and for those wine lovers out there, the wine list is quite something too.

I live very close to this restaurant but haven't quite made it until now. I feel that I am lucky to have a real humdinger of a restaurant under my nose that I shall definitely be visiting whenever I want something that is French inspired cuisine wise.
At this time of the year it's nice to have a mixture of saucings, textures and classical flavorings.
This time I wasn't eating with my beloved but it was my Father and I. We were captivated by the quirkiness of the venue. Expect to see Goat heads with crowns, stuffed tigers and chandeliers of all shapes and sizes in what looks like a slightly eccentric drawing room. The tables are nicely spaced and the staff were receptive and friendly.
We opted for the tasting menu and the selection there was wonderful but the meal wasn't so epic it left us gasping for breath.
The Amuse Bouche comprised of a carrot and ginger soup in a shot glass served with a choux pastry mini bun that had some smoked fish inside. That alone gave my mouth an unexpected foodgasm.
Fortunately my Father had a similar reaction too and from that we silently seemed to agree that we would be having a near Freudian sponsored foodie orgy.
To start there was Foie Gras which had a sauternes glaze, brioche toast and raisin and pear chutney. I am not usually the biggest lover of foie gras but this one wasn't too overpowering and was rather delicate and light in flavor. Yet the delicacy was offset beautifully by the toast and chutney and the richness of the sauternes cleansed the palate nicely.
This was a wine matched meal and the wine served to us was a sauternes too. Again this just became a marriage made in heaven for the course.
The next course (and quite a lot of water later) was Tortellini with crab and langoustine which was served in a creamy, slightly foamy lemongrass sauce. To have experienced heaven in each mouthful would be an understatement as it was as pure (yet decadently filthy) as eating an angel. Each flake of crab melted on the tongue and the lemongrass made the sauce delicately aromatic yet didn't mean the sauce would be too cloying. My only note was that the pasta was a bit thick and was slightly chewy. But it was only slight.
It tasted so good that the only place it would be sent back to would be my mouth to sample it all over again.
This was served with quite a rich chardonnay but it wasn't oaked so it wasn't as syrupy as some of them can be.
For our next course we had some Stonebass which had been cured delicately with honey and came with samphire and a razor clam that had lumps of pancetta with it too. This was paired with another Chardonnay but this one was very clean tasting and left our palates cleansed. It managed to offset the saltiness from the samphire and pancetta in the dish perfectly. I am also a new found fan of the humble 'spooter' as our Scottish cousins would put it. Father and I were delicately unwrapping each layer of food and still sipping politely. Now wasn't the moment to be dripping from the face and chin from the plates of desire we were being sent from the kitchen.
The fish was so delicate yet so well flavored against everything else, portion size was spot on and I would happily order that again. It also flowed well against the other courses we had sampled already.
We then were served some duck that was so exquisite that I can still taste the gamey remnants of it whilst I write about this. This wasn't any old duck, this was serious duck as a certain eldar I know would put it.
The duck breast was served with a cabbage parcel which had slow cooked duck leg meat inside. Each mouthful of that made me then feel that by now I was a in a foodie brothel with keys to every room. Salsify and a light orange jus made me want to bathe in it.
For this we had a very sumptuous Red. I think it was a Medoc but don't quote me on that as my memory by this stage was slightly hazy and the seduction of the kitchen was drowning my senses to the point of feeling nearly dizzy.
We then had a glass of port and some cheese. The selections were spot on as was the walnut bread. I adore walnut bread and I found the bread they served would definitely give the likes of Corrigan and Wareing a run for their money where a bread fight was concerned.
For dessert other than licking every single plate clean and feeling awash with the joys of life and the eccentrically debauched decadence that Les Tois Garcons belted out. We were served a Mille Feuille which had a dark chocolate and praline mousse, a red wine poached pear and earl grey tea ice cream. That was it. This was foodie viagra, that extra shot that meant the orgy could have continued all night and possibly for the rest of your life.
The dessert wine served with this was very enticing too, it was like the nectar of the gods.
To finish we had Coffee, Armagnac and petit fours
Forget 'An Affair To Remember' this will be a special dinner to remember.
From what I observed the matchings for tasting menu and wine pairing wasn't too outrageous. It wasn't cheap but it was a bit lower than some of the Mayfair prices were have encountered and secretly sold children and body limbs for.
I shall be back there at some point, particularly to sample more of what they have on offer.
The staff I must note were incredibly friendly, warm and a pleasure to have looking after our table. They navigated us through three and a half hours of pure and utter joy.

This place is very pricey, I think it was worth it, some may not. Food was excellent and staff very attentive.
The decor is amazing which makes it all a rather pleasurable experience.

Hmm, I have a bit of a mixed opinion on this one. The decor of the restaurant and the food is out of this world, but the service is very much far up their own ass (and so are most of the customers.) If that still may leave you with a romantic experience (and a hefty bill) then go for it.

The food is delicious, the decor is decadent and the service over the top.
Every plate is beautifully well crafted and balanced. And to go with that the wine list is impressive.
The room is heavily decorated and for every pause in the conversation you will find another detail that escaped you so far: be it a Dalmatian or a purse.
We really enjoyed the service. After all every so often it's wonderful to feel pampered.

This is such a cool place that everything else becomes ridiculous. Expensive, but then again, you get what you pay for!
