I live next to this restaurant.I have never seen so dirty kitchen staff walking outside the restaurant 20 times a day to smoke ciggarets in all their kitchen clothes.I can bet that no one ( manager) advise them to takje their working clothes off whilst they go out to smoke, there is a small chance that they wash their hands. They lady who cooks Maria checks the temperature of pasta by touching it by hands.Obviously everything is served to the client.
The main manager made some non proper proposals ( I think Giovanni he said was his name)to me after seeing me twice ( I came to get some take away)
If you go to eat at that place and you are blonde lady you can be sure that Giovanni will do his best to look after you especially after leaving the restaurant.
Comnpeletly non professional people.
Miraculously this weekend the sun was shining and as we were finishing a Saturday morning shopping on Portobello Road we managed to get to one of the two outdoor tables of this little Italian restaurant (they open at noon). We had a great time, not just because we managed to eat in the sunshine in early February but because we were well received by the friendly staff, mainly from Southern Italy, and because the food was simple but very good. The Mozzarella di Buffala was huge and tasty, like it is in Naples and my Calzone pizza was very good too. Don’t expect great gastronomy or a very buzzy atmosphere (this would deserve 4) but for a quick lunch or dinner at a good price this is a perfect place in the area. Very friendly with children too.
July 09: I have just been back and this is officially my favourite pizza (margherita) in London, upgraded to 5, best place for children too.
Kensington Park Road’s Rossopomodoro is perfectly situated to cater to tourists, visitors and locals alike. Part of a well respected chain, Rossopomodoro is a contemporary, attractive take on the neighbourhood Italian restaurant with good food, friendly service and more than pleasant surroundings. With hot red hints the décor is stylish, clean and modern while the buzz from couples, groups of friends and office workers gives the dining room a welcoming vibe. The wood fired pizzas are straight from original Neapolitan recipes, cooked and served fresh with simple flavour combinations which allow the ingredients, imported fresh from Italy, to speak for themselves. In a Notting Hill flooded with overcomplicated eateries and pretentious menus, Rossopomodoro is a breath of fresh air
