Looking for beautiful Art Deco interiors and a relaxed atmosphere with a touch of class? Boo Radley's ticks these boxes and definitely a few more!
I met up with a couple of friends on Friday night who'd booked a table for dinner. This was not the first time I'd been - but the atmosphere during the football world cup wasn't something you could add a comparative value to.
There were a couple of dishes on the specials menu that sounded interesting, namely the Kudu loin for a hundred and thirty bucks. I've been doing the fish thing lately (we do live by the sea after all) so I went for the Blue Fish with garlic mash for a hundred - not blue nose or anything, just Blue Fish. And I have to say that it has to be one of the most amazing fish meals I have ever had! Turns out it was a bit of a favorite with the chef.
Thing is, I don't want to go back there for another just yet - it's like not wanting to wash your hands after you've met your hero.
However, please don't let this stop you should you be in the area and in want of a bit of good seafood. It is certainly memorable.
Spent a wonderful evening at Boo's - the cocktails were amazing - very well prepared with fresh ingredients... and very very tasty!
Sitting at the marble bar definitely lent to the relaxed and funky vibe... giving that cosmo feel well associated with Cape Town.
The food was delicious (Liver Pate was incredible as well as the prawns I sneakily stole off my friends plate!)
I would definitely recommend the Line fish though - perfection! Plus also it helps that the service is friendly and up for a laugh!
I'll definitely be back on my next trip to South Africa!

Awesome bar.. retro-collonial-nyc-stylish (please help!)
Starters and mains have been delicious... If you're looking for something cheap, you shoul give the Mac and Cheese a try.
Often you'll find a mellow live-act playing in the bar. Think they hired Dave Fergeson for this summer-season... make sure not to miss him!
Service is cool and proffesional (pretty as well).
-1 star because the chocolate brownie was served with mediocre ice cream and my créme brullé was pretty cold.
Looking fwd to spend another lousy Tuesday night there... or a Wednesday, or...

A great place to eat or have a cocktail, the building is old and has atmosphere, the service is good, the food is excellent, choice of steaks, fish, pasta (recommend the garlic mash). its located under the new space theatre and on a Wednesday night has live music, later on the people spill out on the street. A good place for all walks of life. Review by English tourist.
