A brilliant card store with a great range of fun cards, I just loved their selections! It’s worth going in just to have a laugh at some of the cards… I’ve bought some to frame them!
I like quirky cards and get creeped out by “old granny” style traditional cards so it was great to go to a shop that just had quirky cards and an assistant who was dancing to the disco classic playing in the background.
minor annoyance they don’t take credit/debit cards for transactions under five pounds, which is a bit weird considering most of what they sell falls into that category
If you’re a fan of the slightly more quirky greetings card then Scribbler is the shop to which you must go for all greetings card based occasions.
They have quite the selection of humorous offerings and some really beautifully designed craft-sy ones.
Gift-wrapping is also a speciality, again with some gorgeous, sumptuous designs and hilarious (?) choices such as sheets printed with the words ‘GAY WRAPPING PAPER’.
Novelty gifts make up the rest of the stock.
Don’t expect to come out of here with anything cheap though. Novelty in this case does not translate as cheap. Some of the cards go for as much as 3 or 4 quid.
dmj1962 'Gay Wrapping Paper'? The mind boggles, but it sounds like a must-have item to wrap Civil Partnership presents!
