Review of Thai Edge - Bristol from 20 January 2013
Went to Thai Edge last week for their Pre-theatre offer of 2 courses from their set menu for £9.95.
Was reasonably impressed overall, nice bright restaurant and modern. The food service was efficient and the food very tasty and good portions. Particularly liked the freshness of the vegetables used. Very good for the cost.

I went around 7-ish and had quite a good experience. The food was delicious and the service was good.

I have eaten at the thai edge many times over the last 12 months with mixed experiences. If you eat between 6-7pm then the service is very good. Between the hours of 8-10 it's a place to be avoided if, like a previous reviewer Mr Gomm, you expect to be attended to instead of the staff attentive only to empty tables. A command of basic English would also be a benefit for the staff as I've ordered a baileys liquor coffee on numerous times, only to be dissapointed with a milky coffee and a glass of baileys with ice. The food is very good but the service is inadequate. To be avoided if you dine between 8-10pm and expect a decent level of service.

Review of Thai Edge - Bristol from 25 April 2011

I went into the Thai Edge yesterday (25th April 2011) and hadnt seen these reviews before. I am glad I didnt (!) as the food we received was excellent, very tasty and with amazing flavours! I love asian food and healthy food, and this was a very pleasant surprise!

The service was also fast(we received our drinks quickly, and main meal within 15 minutes, similiar with dessert) and the staff were very polite, professional and welcoming.

The menu had a very good selection of courses for all tastes and the layout and decor was lovely inside. I ordered the Sea bass with sticky rice which was absolutely delicious. The prices are good, not cheap but not overpriced and I was very happy with what I received- you do (generally) get what you pay for.

I enjoyed the meal so much that I am organising my birthday here for May! Highly recommended!

This place may have the contempory looks and the location of a restaurant above it's station.

The service alters between staff, often impersonal due to the lack of staff for the number of tables. There is a relaxed waiting time which does not juxtapose well with being a primary stop off before the theatre over the square.

As with all Thai restaurants, the starters can not be faulted, if only the starters were a tapas style meal. The mains slide down into mediocrity and end in the often weak point of the bought in desert.

In one word, 'meh'.

I had a completely different experience than Shifteye. Went in for a quick meal pre-comedy at the Hippodrome. Service was fast, excellent and polite. Food was delicious. We chose from the large selection on pre-theatre menu.
I WOULD encourage you to visit this restaurant.

Review of Thai Edge - Bristol from 15 December 2009

What a fantastically enormous disappointed this restaurant is. They charge the sort of prices you'd expect for high quality organic fresh food... every single dish, between the four of us that foolishly ventured into this culinary pit of disaster, felt distinctively rubbery and tasted as though it had been previously kept frozen for weeks. Additionally the service was painfully slow, with a 15 - 20 min wait asking for the bill... they weren't even that busy.

I seriously discourage anyone and everyone from going to this restaurant.
