The only reason we don’t take our present dog is that he’s a rescue dog with issues against other animals so it’s not practical waiting and walking throught the waiting room past all the waiting animals to get into the vets..Also you can easily have to wait up to 3hrs so now we are insured we prefer the booking and getting straight away system of another vets although the prices are extremely high!!! (just been charged £400 for the removal of a toe nail!!!) I would also suggets at the sit and wait surgery you go and get a ticket as early as 5.15pm for the 6pm surgery otherwise you will have a very long wait!!

I've consulted various vets, in various practices, for almost 40 years & have
never found any as efficient, professional, thorough, compassionate & caring
as these people.
They are so caring with pets, caring with owners, take time & trouble with every
patient, go the extra mile with every case, are gentle & understanding with our little
companions & with the owners & are genuinely interested in the treatment, the welfare & the outcome
every time.
Their service in every area is without parallel, their prices are excellent & I recommend
them to everyone.
If any of the amazing people, vets, nurses etc from Richmonds read this, may I say-
" Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you do & have done for the
Little Emperors :) "

I always took my previous labrador to Richmonds..Mr Richmond himself is the best and if it's not an emergency i would recommend you ringing and asking what evenings he will be present as i felt the other people who worked for him wasn't as caring and the bill was always more expensive..he'd not in it for money but for his love of animals. We once got charged £231 for a foot absess at a well known vets..it returned and we took him to Richmonds where they lanced it, gave antibiotics and charged us £18!!!! When our dog needed putting to sleep he woke up one morn and couldn't walk..we were already considering doing the kind thing and putting him to rest but this episode made the decision for us. I called the vets and they offered to come out, they treat him with such compassion, put him to sleep and took him away all for £85

I took my dog in after being knocked down, she had problems with both back legs. They had her for 4 days before I could take her home, but they told me it was only muscle damage and she would make a full recovery. Two weeks later I took her back as she was still having trouble with one of her legs. After yet another X-ray I was informed she had cruciate damage and would need an Op. she had this done and when I went to pick her up I was informed that she also had damage in her other cruciate and might need work on it in a year or two.
Yes they might be cheaper then elsewhere, but I now wouldn’t trust them anymore. I feel their first prognosis was very incorrect or that the truth was withold from me, surely these syptoms would have been present when she first went in and found and if not why not?

After already being charged over 400.00 for a small operation and antibiotices we were going to get charged another 990.00 for a further ear operation to remove the whole ear canal plus after care and went for 2nd opinion at Richmonds was told to try some different medication at 13.00 and to come back in 2 weeks if we did need the operation it would cost 146.00, fortunately the infections cleared completely and the operation wasn’t needed but how one vet can charge 844.00 more than another beggers belief, yes the vets might not be the best looking surgery but I would rather this than getting ripped off by greedy vets that only care about money.

my cat was in richmonds vets for a week in intensive care after having an abcess behind his eye which resulted in an operation to remove his eye he came home but was rushed back a week later as abcess returned, sadly he died at vets 2 days later and vet called me late on a sunday night to break the news and stayed on the phone over half an hour talking to me as i was devastated.the care they gave to both me and my cat was outstanding and they even wrote a letter to my 9 year old daughter to say what a wonderful cat snoopy was and this helped her tremendously with her grief.when the bill arrived i expected hundreds if not hitting a thousand and it was £147 i was amazed the prices and the care are outstanding and i would never use anyone else

My dog is currently in Richmonds at Dewsbury having an operation. I have used this vets for years and The remark about not caring is so shocking to hear. My dog Blade died following a wrong diagnosis from another vets on the same road, no names mentioned and mr Richmond and his team have worked like mad to put right wrong other vets did. The nurse cried when my other dog Mason passed.
Yeah they are proffesional but in no way incompassionate. Previous vets charged me £950 for blood tests and medication and call out ect but no actual treatment and mis diagnosis. when i was £30 short they took pills back Blade needed untill i travelled back with money.
Richmonds are charging £80 for an operation and I am here ranting as I am worried sick, although I know he is in the best hands ever.
In short if you want a vet with an heart, compassion and security of knowing this vet knows what he’s doing 101% . Plus he doesn’t see animals as pound signs and charges reasonable, then Richmonds is the best around.

I too have had my dog misdiagnosed from the vets you are not naming and they charged me £675 and also told me he might need to be put down!!! He is fine infact and back to his old self. When i told them i couldnt afford to pay the bill upfront they held my dog hostage, said i could have him back if i did not pay at least £180…. I had to beg and borrow this money to get my dog back they made me feel terrible didnt care how i felt or how my dog felt being away from his family!! They disgust me i too from now on will only use richmond a vets who actually care.
I have used Richmond vets for about 14 Years now they are excellent!
No fancy prices they just treat your family pet,
I first used them for my cat who had an abcess on her tail, for injection and cousre of antibiotics it cost £9.00.
Last year my dog got attacked by another dog while we were visiting relatives, when i returned home i had to take him back to the vets cos the wound was infected they cleaned it up for free yes free!

Filthy, rude, ignorant about pets that travel abroad and finally made a mistake in my dogs passport which causes me no end of trouble. Would never set foot in the place again.

I've just recently had to put my 16 yr old cat to sleep.Staff at Richmonds were excellent,in particular the vet who was so compassionate, treating both myself and our cat with such kindness.I could not have expected anything more from a vets, they were excellent. The prices they charge are very reasonable too. Many thanks for making such a difficult time bearable.I have 2 other cats and i wouldnot think of going anywhere else.

My dog had his back legs broken in 5 places when he was just 4 months old, I had no insurance and very little money, one vet in Halifax was going to charg me £750 per leg (11yr ago) but a friend told me about Richmond vets. So off we went and I can honestly say I still have my dog Max now, hes just over 11 yr old and they charged me £250 for both legs. I cannot thank Richmond vets enough. Also recently my friends dog had to have an op on his back leg, cant remember what the op was for but it cost her £260 and that was this year. A Good vet with no fancy prices would def recommend.
