I’ve also visited a lot of pubs.

Without question, Ackermann’s is my favorite pub in the entire world.

The menu is accessable and inviting. Ranging from fantastic “comfort food”, to bar snacks, to seasonal specials that show the owners dedication to providing new and interesting items to it’s customers.

The whiskey selection is top notch. I’ve only seen one bar that rivals it, and the place was in the heart of Glasgow!

The prices are reasonable, perhaps even a bit low when the eye-widening portions of some items come to the table!

The atmosphere is the real charm of this place. Ackermann’s has the feel of a place that has been on that site for many decadesl, and is an important part of the community. Works from interesting local artists often hangs on the walls, but it does not detract from the feel of a classic pub in every sense of the word. The kind of pub that you feel at home in, even if you don’t know anyone in the place.

New York, Chicago, L.A., London, Glasgow, Paris, Rome, Prague, Amsterdamn, Berlin, Riga, Helsinki…forget it….one of the best pubs in the world is located in Stuttgart-West!

Ackermanns has a great atmosphere. There’s a weekly ribs night and a beer and wine of the month. The food is quite good and reasonably priced. The salads are huge.
