This place always offers something different. Great music, great Dj’s and a great time. If you are looking to enjoy yourself on a night out. Get down to to this place. It won’t disappoint.

Great music venue. Gets some fab local bands and pulls in a good crowd. Drinks aren’t too badly priced either. Could do with a lick of paint! Would recommend to any music fan

Independent’s a pretty decent place, Sunderland’s 'Indie’ club. Plays the usual type of music rock/indie music with a few more dancey tracks thrown in too.

The place is set over two rooms, the first is a dance floor, small raised area with couches and a bar. The other room is just chairs tables a few old couches and a bar.

Both are quite dirty and grubby looking, and where ever you go expect your feet to stick, but don’t let this put you off. It’s one of the better places to go in Sunderland and welcome change from the rest of the nightlife.

Drinks are pricey for the style of the place and there aren’t many offers on. Live bands from around the area play regularly and they occasionally get some bigger names; it’s worth looking out for whose playing.

I am a regular at this club on a night out. I love the music that they play and they never have a huge request list, so when you request a song you will still be in the club to listen to it, unlike many places. The bouncers are friendly and you are able to talk to them without feeling as though they are trying to chat you up. The toilets are clean and I have never been short of toilet roll, which is important to me on a night out. However, the price of drinks are not the cheapest around.

A proper club. No gimmicks, great booming sound system, doormen who don’t punch people and a great range of drinks - cherry beer on draught my favourite :)
