I agree with some of the comments below. The food is good, but ludicrously expensive, the staff were miserable and what is it about these tiny deli places that they feel the need to make as much noise as possible banging the coffee machine filter against the table top. It's shocking and deafening, which is not what I want on a Sunday morning when I'm trying to read the newspaper and have a cup of coffee.

Service ridiculously slow:  After 10 mins of awaiting table service outside (everyone else was attended to except me) and when I ieventually had to be forced to go into the shop and up to the counter from my table outside bc nobody had bothered to notice that I was waiting for ages with no service  I was then given another 5minute wait with nbo explanation for a cup of coffee and a slice of cake.  I was told by the manager trhat they had 6 people before me - they didn't - everyone else was served exceptp 2 couples who had sat down way after me - and even if he was correct (which he evidently wasn't) he should not have yused that as a response to my inquiry.  Most unprofessional retort.  Eventually my coffee and cake arrived and they were both delicious and |I complemented the manager n them both and he engaged me in conversation about the coiffee they used and my expresseference for soya milk in my coffee these days etc.  i thought that perhaps they had turned it arund but I  was soon proven wrong when the bill came and the itemiswed prinyted subtotal was footnoted with a printed legend:  Optional Service Charge £1.83 and then this was added to a final total.  I gave them a tenner and recieved the change only for the gross amount WITH the service charge automatically adde on t o my bill.  When I enquired that mthere mnust have been some mistake in this regard the barista looked at me quizically (like I was some kind of demanding serial complainer) and said that they do that all the time and it's perfectly normal.  When I told him that having lived and travelled in different countries and eaten and drank in all sorts of establishment cheap and expensive, good and bad, etc and NONE anywhere had ever taken an optional service charge from my change and then embarrassed me into asking for MY money back in the shop he didn't seem to understand my point at all.  Eventually after one of the most ridiculously toe-curling and offensive bits of service I have ever witnessed he gave me my money back which they had attempted to steal from my change as and "Optional Service Charge" and even then got the money wrong.  I quizzed him on this too and asked him for the remaining correct change back and when he refused to do so I told him that if it makes him happier then I will forfeit that few pence extra (erronously thinking he would sot it for me).  He though he had won but indeed I was just simply fed up and utterly disgusted. I got neither any further explanation, input nor apology from him or his boss).  Why when you have such a great shop with great produce and care and attention to its menu and ambience etc would you want to go and ruin it all by attempting to defraud your customers and treat them like morons?  Staggering!!!

One of my favourite cafe and lunch venues
(though closing times don’t make it so good for afternoon teas – see below)

Delicious original fresh food… easy ambience whether outside or in….

Not cheap but happy to pay for quality..

Efficient and generally friendly service – though sometimes some puzzling and grumpy moments…. (and woe betide you if you turn up for tea half and hour or so before closing – they don’t serve you which I find very irritating…)

First time at The Pantry. And I'd definately come back. As modern cafe's go, this one exceeded my expectations with the quality of it's food. I ordered the roast beef tartine and my partner the oven roasted sausages breakfast. Both dishes looked and tasted fantastic. The sour dough bread was a particular highlight. At £7.50 and £8.50 these dishes were well proprtioned for the price and quality. Food came quickly and the staff pleasant. A great find!

This is literally my most favourite place in London town- I have to walk over Wandsworth bridge to get there, which blows all the cobwebs away before having a simply yummy brunch- my favourite is the poached eggs with smoked salmon and fresh watercress.
The service is really great, Dave and his team are always smiley and remember you (which makes a difference!) and I give 5 stars to their interior decoration skills. Dont even get me started on the chocolate and banana cake....

The food is good but very expensive, recently putting prices up but the quality seems to have gone down, especially the sausage sandwiches. Most of the staff offer a smile and are pleasant when serving you.

I’ve been coming here for about a year now, as it’s a great little place for food, with probably the best almond croissant I’ve ever had. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is the thoroughly miserable staff. I’ve never seen a smile in 12 months.

This is the best spot for a Saturday brunch in Wandsworth. The food is fresh and delicious, portions are big and healthy, the coffee is good. The service is really friendly. I really recommend the carrot cake. All in all the best place to get a good start to your weekend.

Just a hop skip and a jump from Wandsworth Town BR, this ultra-fresh deli-café is a bit of a treat. I came for lunch, and even a basic tuna sandwich was made into something special. Thick, wholesome bread was packed with high-quality tuna and fresh crispy salad. The quiche was very good as well, and it looks capable of doing more adventurous fare as well. Not cheap, so probably not an everyday haunt for me, but if you fancy some well made healthy food for lunch, I’d give it a go!

Such a disappointment, unpleasant and rude staff ruin this small café. As a local resident I was very disappointed and shall not return.
