The Archive was founded in 1963. It has the widest unique collection of film, photo and audio documents in Latvia.

The Archive has been reflecting the history of Latvia in audiovisual and photo documents since the second part of the 19th century. Researchers come here for their essays or book publication, students and artists.

Marika M. who works here is very, very helpful. She speaks English very well like her collegue Dmitry who is also a photographer himself.
