SORAT Hotel Ambassador, Schöneberg, Berlin

When I am staying overnight in Berlin - it's here. The hotel (218 rooms) is very central, 2 minutes to the Ku´damm, 1 minute to the KaDeWe. There are more luxurious hotels in Berlin but value for money is right here. Parking is made easy with the hotel's own car park and/or basement garage (7,- per day). The hotel is being frequented well at any time of year and thus there are always plenty of takers for a copious breakfast buffet. There is scrambled eggs, sausages etc. for our English-speaking friends and cold cuts, cheese, salmon, fresh fruit, small sweeties and muesli. I stay in hotels often and there is rarely such a choice. The breakfast salon is made up of many small tables with view to the street or the backyard. In the periphery of the hotel there is a variety of different restaurants of all sorts. The free W-LAN is also worth mentioning.

I stayed in this hotel for about 4 weeks and am totally satisfied! Big, clean rooms, nice and competent personnel, good bar and very tasty restaurant. The hotel is very close to the KaDeWe, Tiergarten / Zoo, Ku'damm, which are in walking distance. Around the corner there's a good and inexpensive laundry (0,99€ per shirt) which is very interesting, especially for business travellers.

As I went to Berlin last year, I was just looking for an inexpensive hotel. The Sorat Ambassador had a special offer (you got two nights for the price of one) and it was very central, which was important to be because of my heavy sightseeing program ! It it within walking distance of the KaDeWe, the Gedächtniskirche, the Kudamm, and a tramway station if you want to go further.

I must say it was WAY better than I had expected. Don’t be fooled by the aspect of the building, it seems dull but rooms are large, comfortable, and the bathroom was a dream. The hotel has a very cosy bar where you can have late-night mojitos, and breakfast is great. Actually, I think we did not have lunch after that breakfast !
